Hi Dr. Mike.

Why not?

Chris

" What can one say of a soul, of a heart, filled with compassion? It is a

heart which burns with love for every creature: for human beings, birds, and

animals, for serpents and for demons. The thought of them and the sight of

them make the tears of the saint flow. And this immense and intense

compassion, which flows from the heart of the saints, makes them unable to

bear the sight of the smallest, most insignificant wound in any creature.

Thus they pray ceaselessly, with tears, even for animals, for enemies of the

truth, and for those who do them wrong. "

I am newly pregnant (with #4!) and wondering how much to increase my CLO

intake. I normally take about 6 gel caps (Twinlab Norwegian - is that brand

okay?).

I'm still nursing a 14mo, and I can easily track if I need more, because he

gets red scaly skin on his legs when I forget to take it for a few days. :-(

I've upped it to 8 or 9 a day, but his legs are still rough and red. Can I

continue to increase my intake without danger to either the pregnancy or the

nursling? (No, we're not weaning any time soon. ;-)

Hi There!

Now is a time of year you can increase your dose as you are not

making as much D with less sun exposure. However you still want to

be careful with dosage as too much D is as bad as too little and too

much pufa is even worse. I can't say how much is too much as I

don't know how much clo is in a twinlab gel. As for the brand I'd

stick with clo from radiant life or from carlsson. As a rule I

don't use any twinlab products.

Twinlab is a supplement giant and generally speaking use cheap

ingredients and make an expensive product, especially considering

what you get. There is no product they make that I am aware of that

I can't get one that is far superior. Bottom line, just not a good

company. Kind of like the difference between the farm you get your

organic free range properly fed chickens from versus purdue chicken.

Well, ok, but considering the cod liver oil specifically, I've used the

TwinLab and the only difference I can see with the Premier/RadiantLife is the

nutrient density. The CLO from Twin Lab is definitely NOT rancid, so they

must be handling it with decent care, decent enough at least. They're both

from cod and they're both from Norway, so I don't see how there could be a

vast difference, at least not to recommend not taking the TwinLab, if it is

the only one that you can afford or have access to.

I hope there's no harm in it; I just bought my girlfriend a bottle. I have a

bottle of RL CLO, but when the shipping and handling is included it's pretty

cost-inefficient for me unless I'm buying a bundle of stuff.

Oh, and my local health food store doesn't carry Carlsons.

Well, I had been using Carlson's, and suddenly my health food store quit

carrying it and replaced it with TwinLab, so I got that since I was totally

out. :-( But now I'm reordering my Carlson's 1000mg gel caps online, so

I'll be switching back to that as soon as they arrive. They contain

Vitamin a...............2500 Iu

vitamin d.....................250 Iu

Vitamin e natural.........10 Iu

omega-3 fatty acids...........240 Mg

Epa.......................90 Mg

dha...........................120 Mg

Ala.......................20 Mg

dpa............................10 Mg
