I've been unsuccessful in finding a local source for a Christmas

ham that's from responsibly raised pigs and free of nitrates and

other preservatives. Anyone have suggestions for a mail-order

source?

We buy our pork products from Pastures a Plenty, a pasture-based farm in

western MN. They deliver to several sites in the Twin Cities once a month,

and also sell products through local co-ops. We met one of the family at a

farm tour of Cedar Summit a couple years ago, there is some sort of

relationship between the two farms

I know they have ham, not sure exactly what's in it. Here is their website:

fina,

Whole Farm Co op is in the process of updating the website. As our members

are also producers sometimes things move very slow. The best way to investigate

the various farming practises is to call our manager, Bromeling, he knows

how everyone handles their products. He will also put you in contact with the

producer if you would like to speak with them or come on out and visit with us.

the number at the co op is 320-732-3023, tell him Candy said to call. there are

several drop sites throughout the cities and he would be able to put you in

contact with one that would work for you. We're looking forward to serving you

and anyone else that would like a good sustainably farmed products. We have a

wide variety of products, grassfed, natural free range, and organic, it is best

to know your producer so that your ideas and ours mesh.
