It may or may not work out the same way in a pandemic, but one of the

things that happened in Hawai'i is that only cash was accepted most

places. This was due to the lack of electricity to run the credit card

equipment, I assume. And ATMs were out of service too, so if you

didn't have cash, you couldn't buy what you needed, like food. So, it

might be a good idea to add a stash of cash to your survival kit. Of

course, you would be well advised to hide it well.
