Guest guest
Valley Emergency Rooms Overrun with Flu Victims January 24th, 2008 @ 2:34pm by Bob McClay/KTAR Valley emergency rooms are being swamped with people coming in with cold and flu symptoms. Many hospitals were put on diversion Wednesday night, with fire dispatchers sending ambulances to the next nearest hospital. Amy Forsberg of Glendale's Banner Thunderbird Medical Center expects more of the same Thursday night. " We're busy right now, we're predicting it's going to be a busy night and that this will continue through, " she said. " We've done a lot of flexing in our department to be able to accommodate as many patients and serve the community with this flood of RSV and the flu. " Forsberg said it's been a fairly light flu season until now. She said all Valley hospitals are now restricting the areas where children can go in their facilities. http://ktar.com/?nid=6 & sid=712002
