I found your links particularly useful; as I wasn't aware that Bird-

Flu had struck in Egypt also, nor that a farmer in India had died of

the disease.

One mustn't get too anxious about all this however; in some places

in Europe there has still only been one or two birds found with the

infection, and just as " one Swallow doesn't make for an indication

of the arrival of Spring " One infected Duck in a European country

doesn't mean that we are all going to die of the human version of

Avian 'flu.

However, over the next Month, we shall see the return of

all birds which over-wintered in Africa. We might see more cases of

infected birds at that time.

said. Officials initially believed the birds had died of Newcastle

Disease, another deadly bird illness, but further tests revealed

that bird flu was responsible.
