Guest guest
Bill, Ralph Golan,MD (Optimal Wellness)suggests that " allergy to yeast is common, especially if you have a candida overgrowth. If after, using yeast, you experience bowel or other symptoms that do not subside within a week or two, discontinue use. If you are prone to food allergies and find yeast helpful, take it only every three to four days. Daily or repetitive use may cause you to develop an allergy " (p 105). He recommends brewer's yeast to people who don't have an allergy or intolerance to it. Hope this helps. Page 251 of ER4YT is always good advice; if you're allergic to a food, even if it's in your blood group diet, eliminate it. >From: Bill Schoolcraft <bill@...> >Reply-onelist >Type-O <onelist> >Subject: Nutritional Yeast for O's ?? >Date: Thu, 09 Mar 2000 08:20:03 -0800 > >Hello Family, > > I'm been reading these posts for some time and something mentioned >earlier prompted my to post. Guest guest
Bill, Dr. Golan doesn't mention nutritional yeast at all. Glad you're doing great on the type O diet. I'm doing better but haven't been on it long enough for the full effect! I used to eat too much grain, especially wheat and corn, and not enough protein. I think I had chronic fatigue for awhile; I had to drag myself out of the house every day and crawl home at night. I still don't have a lot of energy but I'm improving. Thanks Louise, Brewers yeast was the product my reference book mentioned as the stuff *not* to be confused with *nutritional-yeast* and I definitly avoid the former but am concerned about information on the latter. I've been using it for close to 10 years and I'm using this diet to improve my health. I feel that society as a whole think diets are ONLY for people who are want to lose weight, that's not the case. I'm happy with my current weight, give or take 5 lbs. This all started when I tried to be " Mr Vegetarian " and would go to the gym and would utterly be weak. Then I tried to be " Mr Fish " , would go t the gym and the same lacking results. Then I tried to be " polictically correct " and just eat chicken, nothing RED, same results. NOW remember, I do the same exercises on the same machines, with the same amount of sleep so this was a perfect placebo test.... THEN I'D EAT SOME STEAK !!! and I's soar (sore too) back to my regular strength levels. (pause) I never connected the dots. This book and the suggestions (and the Type " O " Power Bars) have enabled me at the age of 44 to do stuff in the gym that I hadn't done since I was in High School here in San Francisco in the 70's. Guest guest
Interesting webpage Bill. I was a no beefer too but really like black angus. Do you guys know about that? I asked a man at Fred Meyer about "clean" beef and he said black angus prides itself on growing healthy beef. No hormones, antibiotics, etc. It looks healthier too! Maybe someday I will live where I can raise my own chickens and eggs, etc. I don't buy the organic chickens due to their expense, but I sure think the grain fed free range produced eggs taste much much better too. Still - I can't do the beef too often though. Need to eat a lot more veggies with it. I've gotten so I really like greens. Going on a cleanse Monday. Time for some spring cleaning!
