Guest guest
Dear List Members, I received some email correspondence from Dr. Kruzel, A. Kruzel, N D Rockwood Natural Medicine Clinic - Laboratory, that he seemed to find my recent correspondence about the reliability of the secretor tests, serotype panels, and sdale lab food lists extremely upsetting. Dr. Kruzel feels as if I have spread misinformation about the sdale lab, its test reliability, food list reliability, and procedures during my duties as moderator/owner of a number of blood type lists. This was never my intention. I arrived at my information through a variety of sources and was merely stating what I thought to be fact as best I knew it based on the most reliable sources I could find. Dr. Kruzel also seems to feel that my remarks have the potential to hurt our dear Dr. J. D'Adamo, N. D., and his blood type theory. Such was never my intention at all and I wish to apologize to both of them and all parties concerned for that error. In order that truth may win out over misinformation, I am printing the following correction to my statements from Dr. Kruzel himself: August 7, 2001 Tabitha Schaffer TabMTBC@... From: Kruzel N D Dear Ms. Schaffer, I recently received an e-mail that is evidently part of a discussion group you run on CookRight4YourType and distributed to ER4YttypeA@... and other related sites. The tone and plethora of misinformation contained therein is extremely upsetting. Since I am unaware of who you are, and why you would attempt to spread misinformation in this manner, I will attempt to set the record straight for you. You state that the sdale (Rockwood Natural Medicine Clinic) lab does not produce reliable results. On what information do you base this statement? If you can produce some evidence that the lab does not produce reliable results, I would love to see it. My laboratory has been testing and doing research on Serotyping since 1992. We have performed hundreds of tests and compared them to other forms of allergy testing on a considerable number of our patients. We have found from this analysis that the categories of different foods, and the way we have defined them, correlated extremely well with what Dr D¹Adamo initially published and has now revised. Your second statement that we " distribute the lists in order to get people in the door for their blood tests " implies that we are attempting to perpetrate a fraud upon the public. This test has been available to physicians, nutritionists, and health care providers since 1993 with Dr D¹Adamo¹s full knowledge. Many practitioners using the diet to help their patients have received clinical support from our laboratory. As we have done, many of these practitioners perform the test as well as have the patient purchase the book. Our laboratory¹s policy has always been full disclosure to any and all users as to what the test measures and how the categories were derived. At no time has there been any attempt to deceive anyone as to what we are doing. Again, if you have evidence to the contrary, I would love to see it. Your statement " Dr D has apparently, asked them to stop before but they have chosen not to " . Again I would ask you to provide proof of such a request. Dr D¹Adamo has been aware of our laboratory and its panel from the onset. At no time did he requested that we stop doing the panel and has in fact, referred people to our laboratory for the test and technical support. Although you state that you are " moderators/owners but we bear no official responsibility Š" As you have put yourselves out to the public on the internet as " experts " and choosing to " speak " on Dr D¹Adamo¹s behalf, you must certainly bear some responsibility for your words and actions. As to your comments to your subscribers that you and do not wish to cause confusion; by perpetuating misinformation on your web site and sending it out on your mailing list, you have done just that. I have known D¹Adamo since 1988 and been a supporter of his and his father¹s work since then. He and I have presented at conferences together. Having researched and published on the subject myself, I have been an ardent supporter of his work, especially in the face of opposition by the conventional and alternative medical communities. Dr D¹Adamo and I know there is much to learn about this subject and are committed to exploring it further. If Dr D¹Adamo opposed our laboratory¹s work, he and his wife would not support the Institute for Human Individuality at Southwest College where the tests are performed. I insist that you cease and desist from further derogatory comments regarding my laboratory, and Mr. Piccirillo M T, the lab technologist. If in fact you have proof of what you have freely distributed over the internet, then please let me know, I¹d love to see it. And further, I print this apology to Dr. Kruzel: on 8/8/01 6:56 AM, TabMTBC@... at TabMTBC@... wrote: Dear Dr. Kruzel, I profusely apologize for any misinformation that may have been spread by myself during the course of my duties as moderator of Live-Right-4-Your-Type about yourself, your company, and Dr. D'Adamo, , or anyone else. I will refrain from participating in or spearheading any further discussions about the topic of secretor tests, sdale food lists, or anything having to do with that subject or your company/lab/business.  I was under the impression I was giving out correct information and I apologize profusely for any misunderstanding that may have occurred.  There are no words that I can use to apolgize for this profusely enough. I hope that you will consider this a human error, a misunderstanding, and that this will clear up this matter without any further legal action. It is my wish to further Dr. D'Adamo's theory and everything associated with it, not tear it down. I will gladly issue a public apology on all the blood type mailing lists where I first distributed the information, if you wish. My sincerest and deepest apologies for any confusion or hurt that I may have caused, Tabitha Schaffer, TabMTBC@... Pursuant to my apology to Dr. Kruzel, I will not be participating in or spearheading any more discussions about the sdale lab, any aspect of the school in Arizona, secretor testing, or anything to do with the sdale lab's food lists. Dr. Kruzel reiterated to me the following: I am also requesting that if you have any concerns/questions regarding anything the Southwest College (Rockwood) lab does, that you first check with us. As  with our other customers, we will provide whatever support we can give. As I mentioned before, we are committed to the promotion and dissemination of accurate information regarding Dr D'Adamo's work. As do you, we wish to see this system flourish as it provides a great benefit to humanity. Sincerely, A. Kruzel N D I hope this provides clarity for everyone and Dr. Kruzel, I hope you can reply to me ASAP so we can close this matter. Tabitha Schaffer, TabMTBC@...
