OK gang IM BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK. First my many thanks to Cheryl,

, , and most importantly our dear and beloved moderator

Steve Howes, who, IMHO, should NEVER have been removed as moderator

in the first place (unless of course it was his decision...which to

me it clearly was not). I'm gratified that you find my posts so

informative. I'm just walking along with the rest of you.

As to the status of the files, here is where that stands:

The files have been placed, as I understand from Steve, on moderated

status, which means that only Steve, as I understand it (please

correct me if I am wrong Steve) can upload information to the files.

This is to protect the files from being uncerimoniously tampered with

in the future by ANYONE.

The files are still there and all may access them or whatever. It is

my understanding that a certain CT SMITH (whom I have never seen a

post from before this incident) removed some of my recipes from the

individual files because they contained avoid ingredients and this

person (whomever this is) did not want people to get discouraged or

confused on ER by eating avoids. I applaud that sentiment. However,

my recipes were phrased like this:

Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method

-------- ------------ --------------------------------

2 1/3 cups spelt flour -- *see Note

3 teaspoons baking powder (corn free unless A)

3/4 teaspoon salt

1 1/2 cups white sugar

1/2 cup shortening -- *see Note

2 eggs

1 cup milk (B, AB); soy milk (A, AB, O); or rice

milk (all)

1 teaspoon vanilla (A, B, AB) or almond (O, A)

extract

FOR WHITE CAKE:

3 egg whites instead of whole eggs

FOR CHOCOLATE CAKE:

1/4 cup cocoa powder

FOR SPICE CAKE:

1 teaspoon cinnamon (A, AB) or nutmeg (all)

1/4 teaspoon ground cloves

1/4 teaspoon ground allspice (O, A) or nutmeg (all)

FOR PINEAPPLE UPSIDE DOWN CAKE:

1/2 cup butter (O, B); margarine (A, AB) or olive

oil (all)

2/3 cup brown sugar

pineapple slices for bottom of pan

For a Yellow Cake: Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, and

sugar. Cut in shortening until fine crumbs are formed. Add eggs,

milk, and vanilla. Beat at low speed for 1 minute, then high for 2

minutes, scraping the bowl frequently.

Pour batter into greased and floured 9x13 inch pan. Bake in preheated

350 degree F oven (175 degrees C) for 25 to 30 minutes.

Variation for a White Cake: Prepare as for the basic cake except use

3 egg whites for the 2 whole eggs. Whites may be beaten separately

and added for a lighter cake.

Variation for a Chocolate Cake: Add 1/4 cup cocoa powder to the basic

cake mix prior to adding the milk.

Variation for a Spice Cake: Add 1 teaspoon cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon

ground cloves, and 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice to the basic cake

mix.

Variation for a Pineapple Upside Down Cake: Melt 1/2 cup butter in

the bottom of a 9x13 pan. Add 2/3 cup brown sugar, stirring into the

butter. Arrange pineapple slices in the pan. Top with the basic

(yellow cake) mix recipe. Bake 30 to 35 minutes, cool 5 minutes, and

invert to serve.

Makes 1 -9x13 inch cake

NOTES : This recipe was originally made with all-purpose flour. You

may have to experiment a little with the spelt flour (usually by

decreasing liquid) to get the right consistency.

Shortening should be made from blood-type-friendly ingredients. I

have used olive oil for a shortening substitute in other cake

recipes, but have not tried it here.

As you can see, in the milk line for instance it says 1 cup milk (B,

AB) soy milk (A, AB, O) or rice milk (all) MEANING that milk is only

for B and AB blood types, soy milk only for A, AB, and O blood types,

and rice milk for ALL blood types. This IMHO makes it as plain as

can be which ingredients are to be used and which to be avoided by

specific blood types when making this or other recipes. The ALL in

parenthesis after the title makes it plain (at least to me and I hope

to others) that this recipe is adaptable to all blood types. If it

said A and AB only after the title it would mean only A or AB blood

types could have the recipe. I don't know how much more plain I can

be than that.

I do realize that this is the O list; however, if you are like me,

all of your close friends and family who follow the diet (if they do)

are not O's. I have 2 daughters, one O and one B, a husband B,

myself O, a mother A, a best friend A, and a father AB (before anyone

asks I am adopted). I always keep recipes on hand for all

types 'cause you never know who's coming to dinner--and thought you

might want to do the same.

I plan to go through the recipe folder sometime when I have time and

reupload the missing ones (as well as some new ones that I have

created since the folder was done). In the meantime, I know that

some of you have private collections (and I am gratified). If you

know of one that's missing that you want reposted, let me know and I

will post to the list AND forward to Steve for reuploading. The best

way to do this, as I do a lot of deleting based on subject line when

I get behind sometimes, is to post ISO BEEF POT PIE (or pumpkin pie

or whatever the name of the recipe is) in the subject line so I don't

miss it. This may take some time as I just got a new computer and

am reorganizing my files in the middle of taking care of many family

issues and entering the holidays.

I hope our list never loses its focus to O issues but I also hope

that there is room for OT discussions (if labeled OT in the subject

line) and always for learning from one another. The day our list

loses its freedom and spontanaiety (SP) is the day I leave for good.

And I do hope that if anyone has issues with me next time I post a

recipe, a message, or whatever, they won't just delete without

notification first.

Thanks again for your friendship,

Tabitha
