On the subject of yogurt, for those who are " yeasty " eating plain

yogurt that contains live yogurt cultures is beneficial. While

yogurt is considered " dairy " on the Type O program, I think we have

to prioritize sometimes.

Ethical Nutrients makes a dairy-free acidophilus powder called

" Intestinal Care DF " (4.5 billion organisms per serving!) that has

been recommended to me by three nutritionists. You'll find it in the

refrigerator section of almost any health store.

They have a Web site: http://www.ethicalnutrients.com/

I take Calcium-Magnesium supplements from the vitamin store. I would

go with that, rather than Tums. Here's what " Prescription For

Nutritional Healing " says about antacids:

" Most antacids sold in the United States contain aluminum compounds,

calcium carbonate, magnesium compounds, or sodium bicarbonate.

Aluminum-based antacids can cause constipation. Calcium carbonate can

cause a rebound effect in which the stomach produces more acid than

before once the antacid's effects wear off. Magnesium compounds can

cause diarrhea. Sodium bicarbonate can cause gas and bloating. "

To be honest, I probably don't know enough about Tums to pass

judgement. What does the ingredients list say?

Chocolate Decadence in Oregon makes dairy-free chocolate:

Also, Plamil Organics in Connecticut:

I was very tempted to order a dairy-free chocolate bar from one of

these companies, and then the whole yeast issue came up, and then I

had to eliminate sugar for the time being. But that doesn't mean it

isn't still in the back of my mind... ;)
