Guest guest
really tired! Hi all, I've been away and just caught up with all your talk on teas etc. For the past 10 days I have been very tired and don't know why. Possibilities- hubby has had a very bad virus (bronchial) and is totally wipped all the time - 3 weeks now but he was away near the beginning with a few nights of little sleep. I rarely get a cold -every 15 years or so - but had a scratchy throat and that may be the tiredness that is lingering on - have been sleeping 7+ hours for the most part but waking exhausted and cannot sleep in the daytime even tho I try -Off diet a bit including rum and diet coke! Less exercise. -Busy and dealing with some issues with others that don't have any easy answers. So, any magic answers.....or just the plain old eat right, live right etc? detox...I can't sleep more because my body won't let me. Guest guest
Ann, The closest thing to a magic answer is fasting. Did you read 's post. It still takes the effort to do it but fasting is usually the quickest. Also, when you have have any stubborn problem that you can't find an answer to, I like the fasting. Usually the problem will resolve itself and you know that it has something to do with what you are doing. Fasting to the body is like a good cleansing bath and a long refreshing nap. Guest guest
> The closest thing to a magic answer is fasting. I disagree. Keep in mind that many of the fasting books are not blood type specific. Here are two posts from on fasting... /message/7808 " Eating HB foods will detox your body better then any fast. If you want to juice for a day or so, I;d say go for it, but it is not necessary. Sure you will have people comment that " I felt so much better " but that comes from consuming different foods. We tend to eat the same foods day in and day out. So when you brake the cycle, the body simply " THANKS YOU " . Following LR, is all most of us need. " /message/7809 " It should be a veggie juice fast (and very short) only. Consuming fruit sugar without protein for Os is asking for trouble down the road. Guest guest
Thanks Kathy for the reply, Fasting has not really been an option for me because I tend to have somewhat unstable blood sugar and a fruit fast just starts its yo-yoing like crazy. And would feed the yeast I tend to have. I am an O ns so what options do I have ? Water? I need to maintain a regular eating schedule in order to not trigger a migraine. I do fast now @14 or more hours each night - a major achievement for me. But so many things seem to get out of balance very easily for me ... pH for example. A few weeks ago I tried to push body into mild ketosis - did not achieve that but then had all sorts of other problems - jitteriness, hot flashes, insomnia...etc What I should probably consider is a detox program supported with a product by Metagenics called " UltraInflavogen " in Canada or " UltraInflammatory " in the US. It is a rice based protein but has more sugar than an O ns should have - rice protein syrup if I remember correctly. But i use it sometimes if I feel sick and it is not bad for me. Still tired...still a recurrent tiny bit of sore throat...but more relaxed and having longer sleeps...No doubt I will recover ! Any advice greatly appreciated! Guest guest
A lady on one of my lists suggested that Wild Oregano and only the would variety could help her get rid of a stuffy nose and soar throat. On another one someone said it had been an old family recipe for she knew of some 26 years, to take an herbal laxative at the first sign of a soar throat and by the next morning the cold symptoms would be gone. really tired! > > > > > > Hi all, > > > > I've been away and just caught up with all your talk > > on teas etc. > > > > For the past 10 days I have been very tired and > > don't know why. > > > > Possibilities- hubby has had a very bad virus > > (bronchial) and is totally wipped all the time - 3 > > weeks now but he was away near the beginning with a > > few nights of little sleep. Guest guest
I use a product called Moducare. It was developed in South Africa to help boost the immune system of AIDS patients and contains only plant sterols. I use to have chronic bronchitis and tonsilitis and was on antibiotics 6 to 9 times a year. Since I have started taking Moducare I have not needed antibiotics even once and whenever I feel a cold coming on I take a double dose before I go to sleep and the next morning its gone. > > > > > > really tired! > > > > > > > > > Hi all, > > > > > > I've been away and just caught up with all your talk > > > on teas etc. > > > > > > For the past 10 days I have been very tired and > > > don't know why. > > > > > > Possibilities- hubby has had a very bad virus > > > (bronchial) and is totally wipped all the time - 3 > > > weeks now but he was away near the beginning with a > > > few nights of little sleep. Guest guest
Hi, first of all,` my sore throat is so minor that I would not even bother with a lozenge - it is just an indication to me that there is something going on in my body. My immune system is a strange one - I only have a cold every 10 or 15 years and do not get the stomach flu although I once had food poisoning. But I do get these occasional " exhausted " periods that I think may just be my body fighting something. On the other hand my immune system ain't so good re cancer ....My mother had this kind of system too - was a type A and had cancer twice and lived to 89. I'm an O ns Sometimes I increase my vitamin C but it can give me a faster tract time which I don't need - I need to catch the nutrients before they exit! Anyone know about Astralagus or is it Astagulus - we have a bottle that was prescribed for DH and never used. Sterols are a great idea - I sent them to my DD who gets a lot of things. Oregano - I tried that once for Candida and will never do again - it is very hard on the digestive system and I think it kills off the good bacteria too. When we are sick I believe it is most important to maximize the abilities of the digestive system - that is where we get all our nutrients and is a large part of the immune system! Thanks as always for the ideas. BTW, : I think you are right - the LR diet and real food with lots of highly beneficials always make me feel the best. they give my body what it needs. Thanks for reminding me. Guest guest
Woah! More info about this product please! Where what one get it and what's in it? I have CFS and a very weak immune system despite my supplements thus far. Debbie At 3:17 pm +0000 6/12/01, vivaciousbernie wrote: >I use a product called Moducare. Guest guest
Hey, good recounting on those high-quality posts! Also, I saw a favorable reference to Herbert Shelton from one of us... on fasting. I have read the book by that wacky couple who were influenced by natural hygeine (a deficient diet that only As could come close to making workable). What was it called? Well, several books... By Harvey and Marilyn Diamond as I recall. That was my first exposure to Herbert Shelton's ideas on health. Here is a good place to acquaint yourself with a sane viewpoint on Herbert Shelton, natural hygeine, and the kinds of diets pushed in those circles: http://www.beyondveg.com/billings-t/bio/billings-t-bio-1a.shtml This is a brief auto-bio by Tom Billings, from the indispensable quality " Beyond Vegetarianism " web site. Another must read for Os (I'm hot today!) I speak from experience. Soon after getting the CR4YT book (the only one I've got, I'm waiting for the encyclopedia, might as well at this point) I went into my purification phase and went against the recommendation from Dr. D. I fasted, detoxed, went veg-head off and on for 1.5 years and though I was successful at losing lots of body weight (perhaps too far?) and cleansing in retrospect I really should have found a source of grass-fed (i.e. natural) red meat. Us Os shouldn't be on wimpy diets, unless we want to be wimpy too. Axel O and very positive about it becoming less wimpy with every mouthful of delicious RED MEAT and lots of animal FAT! I hope you guys check out the links I've provided today, they answer a lot of questions I've seen asked and they help establish a solid base of knowledge for Os (who are ideally on the correct diet which is all of the following: BTD-O (duh!), paleoithic, low-carbohydrate. Guest guest
Debbie - are you eating 100% compliant every day? Lots of organic veggies and meats/fats. Gram of protein per lb?
