Guest guest
When I was in clinical practice I did notice that alarms would often go ignored by nurses who were not in attendance upon the particular patient. This galled me. I mean, what does it take to find out what's wrong? Why run around finding the patient's assinged nurse to deal with the problem when you could solve it yourself. This kind of thing happens frequently on general medical-surgical wards. The intensive care nurses tend to far more with it here. No alarm should go unheeded ever. There never was a good war or a bad peace. lin From: rumjal <rumjal@...>Flu Sent: Tue, February 15, 2011 1:25:55 PMSubject: [Flu] Patient alarms often unheard, unheeded Patient alarms often unheard, unheededThe incessant din of beeping monitors can numb or distract hospital staff; the consequences can be deadlyhttp://www.boston.com/lifestyle/health/articles/2011/02/13/patient_alarms_often_unheard_unheeded/
