Guest guest
I couldn't even guess why the tests were denied; but I do know that in our high tech world of medicine we (patients and doctors as well) want the latest diagnostic thing to come down the road. That's what helps to drive up the cost of health care. Why a simple CT scan which lasts for about 10 minutes should cost about $3,000 is beyond me. Fall down six times; stand up seven. All of the cases studied were handled by MedSolutions, a company that screens test requests in the state for Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Delaware and other insurers.According to the report, "10 to 15 (percent) of requested tests appear to have been denied inappropriately... "It is a huge number," Sen. D. Rockefeller, chairman of the Senate Commerce Committee told NBC News...It follows a pattern that never stops with health insurance companies. It is always the bottom line. The more they say no, the more money they make."...http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/42613298/
