Guest guest
Hey Kristl, I love all the Myers-Briggs stuff. Psychology is kindof a hobby. I used to think I should be a developmental psychologist. I was going to be the Dr. Spock of pre-teens (boy do we need one!). Anyway, that was before Anti-Aging medicine and after that, a Politician. (WHAT WAS I THINKING???!!!) Actually, I just got kindof excited (read: carried away) because I found the Natural Law Party just as I was getting really dissatisfied with the medical establishment. Now, I'm hoping to go the the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine (SCNM) after I graduate from law school (in 2 and 1/2 more years!) and get licensing here in Texas...I'll be both a lawyer and a naturopathic doctor (What a wierd combination!). Maybe I can be a holistic politician " We don't just raise or lower taxes, pass a bill or two — we treat the whole system. " But, I digress. Just finished a book called Type and Time Management. I've always been typed an INTJ, but I think that I manage time more like an INTP. I also don't much like the style of the test on Dr. D's website. When you see the characteristics all laid out like that, I think you are much more likely to select ESTJ (the largest and " most popular " group) or at least lean in that direction from whatever you really are. I greatly prefer the test in Keirsey's books (also available here: http://www.advisorteam.com/user/ktsintro1.asp ). It is far more accurate. His characterizations of people are also very good. I like all typing systems really. Wonder why I'm on the BTD? Actually, if I have learned anything from studying all of the various typing systems, it is that no one really fits into any one of them 100%. I finally got a copy of You Are Your Blood Type, by Toshitaka Nomi. He basically describes all O's as ESTJ's. I find that funny as an INTJ O- Se, with O friends and family who are ENTP, INFJ, ESTJ, ISTJ, ENTJ, and ENFP. Hmmm. Not sure I see much correlation in my little sample group. Let's just say I like the chapter in LR4YT on neurochemical differences among the blood types far more than the chapter on personality differences. The only way I see how they might relate is in dealing with stress, but even that has to be correlated with their MBTI type. Hmmm...I suspect that there is much more to be learned in this field. It will probably be done after we fully map the brain (You thought the Human Genome Project was difficult...HA!).
