Guest guest
I would really like to hear what you have discovered. Sometime I would also like to hear about New Zealand. Guest guest
Just for fun and interest I did a test to decide my type and I turned out to be dominantly Vata(34 total score)much less Kapha(16) and least Pitta (12 scores). ( I never went into it any deeper.) I am Type O Rh+ non secretor. OK, so does it say anything? What sort of information would you share with us? Thanks, Rose/Hun

I'm an Ayurvedic Medicine Practitioner in New Zealand (South Pacific). I'm always asked about the links between Ayurveda and the Blood Type diet, so I did some research and have formulated opinions regarding the unique relationship between these two disciplines. If anyone is interested in my findings, please contact me. PS-I am not trying to sell anything - I only want to spread my knowledge. Thank you! Yolande Manson (A.M.D.,N.D.) Guest guest
Hi Irene Thanks for your message - I hope Ayurveda becomes more popular also!! I think you'll find that doing the test to find your body type is completely inaccurate. Only a qualified practitioner can tell your true birth constitution (from your pulse), what you get on the tests is just your current level of the doshas, which is more often than not - an unhealthy state which you are in. Most people are not in their perfect balance right now, so doing a test right now will tell you this unhealthy state, not the state which is right for you. It is most likely that you are not VPK (although some people are, I am), but that you have some doshas which are out of balance (too high or too low right now). To find this out, you need to look at your current ailments or feelings of ill health and see which doshas they correspond with, this dosha will be unnaturally high and need to be lowered by following a pacifying diet for this dosha. For example, if you have mucus, pusy blisters/rashes/acne, lethargy, heaviness and weight gain - follow K diet. If you have irritability, burning red rashes, impatience, stomach ulcers, burning stomach/diarrhoea, inflammations - follow P diet. If you have anxiety/stress, dry skin, falling hair/splitting nails, joint problems, mental problems, rapid breathing/heartbeat, exhaustion - follow V diet. For more advice, you'd better see an Ayurvedic Medicine Practitioner!! The test I did consisted of two parts, one for personality traits, the other for current health status. Both showed the Vata rate highest, Kapha about half of that and Pitta the lowest. What does it mean then? Anyway, until I find out any more about that, I am not altering BTD anyhow. Thanks, Rose/Hun
Guest guest
Hi, I fall under the V diet category. Can someone please tell me where I could find info about the V diet? Thank you. ph
Guest guest
Hi Rose, I can't really tell you what the results mean, tests are inaccurate, even personality traits change as your imbalances change. All I can tell you is that, although you MAY have a vata body type, it is quite likely that you have a Vata imbalance (ie-very high vata) which is extremely common today. It is caused by overwork, overexercise, too much thinking/talking, emotional/physical stress, anxiety, depletion, excess fasting, or eating foods which are too dry, cold, crunchy or lacking in minerals oils and moisture. Without seeing you, talking to you and feeling your pulse, there is no way I can accurately tell you your true Ayurvedic type. If you want to find out, you would need to see a consultant wherever you live. Try and find one who has studied in-house (NOT correspondence) at a reputed Ayurvedic Institution. The best one I know of is www.ayurveda.com (run by Vasant Lad in Albequerque). Good Luck!!
