surgeries & Reactive Arthritis

This is a very interesting topic. I had nasal surgery

approximately 15 years ago. The wound has never healed. My

current ENT doc will not do surgery to correct the problem. He

says the chances of successfully closing the wound is less than 10%

due to the inflammatory processes of Reactive Arthritis.

The wound has improved significantly in recent months with the

administration of low doses of inhaled prednisone for allergies and

asthma symptoms. This was not an expected benefit, but is

gratefully welcomed and has decreased nose bleeds to a couple of

times a week instead of a couple of times a day.

There is truthfully no way to predict how an individual with

Reactive Arthritis will react to surgery, but it is a factor worth

considering in any decision.
