Guest guest
, What antibiotics? If it was Cipro, Levaguin or Avelox (or a number of other flouroquinolones), the antibiotics could be the culprit. In a message dated 1/28/2008 1:44:46 P.M. Guest guest
This may be off topic, but I thought I'd share this, if nothing else, to ask for your prayers regarding my sister. Last week, she had a headache and a slight fever. She thought it was a sinus infection and was prescribed some antibiotics. Then on Tuesday her headache became so bad, she was naseous and vomitting. She also started seeing double vision. She went to the ER and they gave her pain killers that did nothing to relieve the pain. They also ran an MRI of her head. They pointed out a small spot on her MRI scan and said she might have " gray matter disease " (MS). My sister freaked. She went to her prmary doctor and he told her he had doubts that it could be MS, but he'd have to see the MRI scan to be sure (at that time, he hadn't seen the pictures yet). She was then referred to an ophthalmologist who couldn't find anything wrong with her eyes but noted that the left eye wasn't tracking with the right, which was causing the double vision. He didn't seem interested in seeing the MRI scan at all, and told my sister it might be just an infection that reached the back of her eye. Although he could find no evidence of infection or inflammation, he also suspects there may be inflammation involved too but he won't prescribe any immuno-suppressants until her regimen of antibiotics is complete. In the meantime, my sister is still experiencing pain in the left eye (every time she moves the eye, it hurts) and she has to wear a pirate's patch over it so she doesn't get naseous from seeing double. Has anyone experienced anything like this? She doesn't have any history of spondies or eye disease, but it is in the family. Not sure what's going on and the doctors seem clueless. In the meantime, she has a full time job and four kids to take care of. Any prayers for her sake would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. --------------------------------- Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile. Try it now.
Guest guest
hi christine.... just tell your sister not to panic, take things one step at a time and wait for things to fall into place. its better to take a positive approach to this and just rule things in or out one at a time. if the pain isnt treated, she needs to see another doctor, until she recieves some satisfactory answers or treatment, and preferably both. give her my best wishes ~ james --------------------------------- Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile.
