Guest guest
Thanks for bringing this up again. Has anyone had success with detox? What kind of detox helped the most? I have seen some flare ups due to foods with eggs and with beer, but not with wine. Wondering if there are any common traits here we can all leverage to feel better? ________________________________ From: phuzaxeman777 <phuzaxeman777@...> Sent: Mon, April 4, 2011 6:21:10 PM Subject: antibiotic therapy for arthritis  i know it's been brought up before, but is anyone recently on longterm low antibiotic treatment? http://arthritis.about.com/cs/antibiotic/a/antibiotictreat.htm

Guest guest
I've been on Rifampin (600 mg. daily) and Doxy (200 mg.) daily for the past year plus. It does help somewhat, but I don't believe I'm cured, and am not certain how long I'll be able to stay on the meds. > > i know it's been brought up before, but is anyone recently on longterm low antibiotic treatment? > > http://arthritis.about.com/cs/antibiotic/a/antibiotictreat.htm >

Guest guest
Good question regarding Antibiotic therapy My thoughts on Antibiotic therapy are these. When I am really sick and they put me on Augmentin, I start feeling better all over. In fact I wish I could talk my doctor into it for long term. When you have ReActive Arthritis, it means you may be reacting to bacteria. So sinus infections for me can trigger all my arthritis pain symptoms and when treating the sinus my whole body benefits. The hard part is trying to figure out when there is another infection going on which might be triggering the arthritis symptoms. Years ago I had a Rheum doc who put me on Cipro for a daily dose. For some reason we stopped it. I think when we get to feeling better, it is hard to stay on it. There is a web site devoted to this whole discussion at The Road Back Foundation. It is very pro Antibiotic therapy. http://www.roadback.org/index.cfm/fuseaction/home.main.html When I travel I make my doc give me an rx for Augmentin or something else. I get sick and feel worse when I travel. One time I ended up in the ER out of state and they had no clue what to do with me, so they gave me huge doses of penicillin and an anti viral as my throat was swollen and had sores and I hurt all over. It was the only way I survived the trip. I honestly believe from my own personal experiences that Antibiotic Therapy will someday hold the clue to treating our illness. Has anyone else had improvement while on antibiotics? This is a great discussion. Thanks for bringing it up.
