Guest guest Posted May 28, 2011 Report Share Posted May 28, 2011 Since for most of us, the flare ups are triggered by getting sick (infections, etc) what are your tips for staying healthy? Here's what I do: 1) Carry hand sanitizer and wash hands often 2) I take alot of supplements especially Vitamin D which helps for inflammation and maintains immune system 3) Probiatic Yogurt almost everyday to make sure digestive track is protected 4) I carry zinc lozenges with me and take it at the first sign of a cold 5) I drink echinacea tea at the first sign of a cold plus drink a lot of green tea 6) Get as much exercise and sleep 7) I swear by the benefits of apple cider for stomach bugs and sore throats (do the research) 8) Meditation. Since I can't work out like I used to at the moment, I meditate and pray. 9) Support. I have a great support system and also talk to my counselor for help. 10) Make sure you keep other parts of your system healthy (for me i have controlled my hypertension and bad allergies) even though I have joint pain. I've been depressed, and I resent this disease but my wife told me that my condition is a part of me. Maybe you have tips you can share to protect yourself from another flare.
