Guest guest
Hello, My significant other, who is 70 years old with ankylosing spondylitis, just had a folding chair collapse under him. He fell on a concrete patio. He says that he is fine and in no pain. I know that the consequences of falls in people with AS can be very bad, resulting in spinal fractures, etc. I need to know what to look out for and what to expect - what danger signs to look for. He is very resistant to getting medical attention. I called his rheumatologist's office, and the nurse said she didn't know what to tell me because the doctor was out of town. She seemed to think that if he wasn't hurting that he was okay. I don't agree. If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate them very much. We are all alone and don't have anyone to ask or to help us. I just know he'll be hurting later as these things have a delayed reaction. Thank you so much and bless you all, Lana
Guest guest
If pain develops, then he needs to see a doctor. If not, and he still has his usual range of motion without pain, then he is probably OK. Not a doc, just saying what seems logical. > > > Hello, > > My significant other, who is 70 years old with ankylosing spondylitis, just had a folding chair collapse under him.
