Guest guest
Hello Heidi and All I have had terrible shin and foot pain and ankle pain for years, but for the last 8 months or so it has worsened. I do have stenosis of the spine and other ortho problems...my doc says it is neuropathy...I am told I am diabetic, however, I am under complete control of it...my pain meds don't help a lot with the leg and foot pain..oh, also have pain in the front of my thighs...I am on Lyrica also now, it helps somewhat, but not enough...what I do for my foot pain which excruciating at times is use the pain patches, the Lidocaine patches..I put them all over my feet and ankles and put socks over them and it helps alot...but you can only keep them on for 12 hours and off 12 hours...for now I have to deal with the other pain as nothing really helps that much, but I am thankful for the meds I do have as it takes some of the edge off of the pain...also my memory us useless..LOL short term is just terrible..LOL..have to laugh...if I don't, I'll cry... Guest guest
Heidi, I get leg pain, but just had EMG done and found out I have a neuropathy in them. I am not diabetic, so Dr who did the test thinks it may be from my spinal stenosis. Said neurontin or lyrica were the drugs to treat. I am trying to hold off until my appt with my rhuemy who ordered the test. To see what he suggests. We had talked about me seeing neurosurgeon but I am trying to put off more back surgery as long as I can. The surgery would be to open the foramens up to relieve pressure off of the nerve roots. There is a topical that has been recommended by FM Aware, "024", you get it from CVS, don't know if any place is selling yet. It cost about 20 for a box of wipes or a spray, I use the spray, but it sure does help me to relieve the aching, from fibro and my arthritis. The main ingredient is camphor, so you have to be able to tolerate the smell for a few minutes. But I feel relieve before the smell dissipates. Guest guest
Heidi it is called "024" it should be on the shelve area where they sell topical arthritis rubs etc. It is a Swiss product if I remember right.
