|

| hi Duncan and other folks,

|

| According to Jaguar, if I'm not mistaken, the increase in comfort from a

sine wave pulse allows a person to turn up the current. Could this

increased current compensate for the lessened effectiveness of the modified

wave, thereby eliminating any disadvantages?

Eliminates some of the disatvantages. It's not as much the power, but the

shorter rise time of a square wave that is more effective.

|

| Also in an eariler post of yours, you say that 60hz AC devices are

harmless. Isn't this a direct contradiction of Becker, et al., who

say that people should minimize all close contact with such devices as hair

dryers, electric stoves, heating pads, clocks near the bed, etc.?

He was referring to the magnetic component being harmful at low

levels...electric fields don't count for much up to almost 100KHz range. But

our devices are almost unmeasurably low on magnetic field. The fields drop

off VERY quickly. And the wall adapter is a ways from you. .

| I believe the statement.

|

| Fast rise times of a pulse have been shown to be more effective. That's

not

| to say the other waves are ineffective though. The manufacturers have

opted

| for patient comfort. That's understandable. You can always lengthen

(more

| comfortable) exposure. :-)
