Date: Friday, September 16, 2011, 9:23 AM Because most diets aren't deficient in glycine or glutamine, 350-500 mg cystine and 200-400 mcg selenomethionine may suite you fine for glutathione production; higher in illness :)all good,DUncan>> Thanks Duncan, so do you feel ProImmune or blending one's self(178 mg cystine 150 mg glycine, 294 mg glutamic acid 5 .mu.g selenium methionine) a good alternative for one which may have difficulty digesting Non denatured whey as you advocate...your opinion is respected.> > Thanks in advance.> > >
Guest guest
Excessive oxidative stress due to radiotherapy produces the hydroxyl ion, the most powerful free radical. This is why people on radiotherapy get so oxidised looking and take months to recover; they are essentially " cooked " by the chain reactions until they are quenched. Hydroxyl radicals are quenched by glutathione, which is created by taking glutathione precursors. In a feeding tube, the prescription whey protein Immunocal in the USA is covered by Medicare and Medicaid. all good, Duncan > > > > Thanks Duncan, so do you feel ProImmune or blending one's self(178 mg cystine 150 mg glycine, 294 mg glutamic acid 5 .mu.g selenium methionine) a good alternative for one which may have difficulty digesting Non denatured whey as you advocate...your opinion is respected. > > > > Thanks in advance. > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Yes, all undenatured whey isolates and concentrates produce glutathione in the same way Immunocal does. There are differences in their protein profiles and the amount of glutathione produced due to the way they are extracted and filtered but they all contain lactoferrin, beta-lactoglobulin, serum albumin and alpha lactalbumin, which are the proteins that contribute glutathione precursors. I think Immunocal produces equivalent glutathione per gram as two of the other top isolates but that's an educated guess. Most people use a few more grams of good quality undenatured concentrate or isolate, or a blend, that might cost only 1/8 as much. Allowing for the dose difference there is no difference in effectiveness. all good, Duncan > > > ** > > > > > > Excessive oxidative stress due to radiotherapy produces the hydroxyl ion, > > the most powerful free radical.
