Guest guest
I was a general music teacher at a private school over ten years ago. After my children's adoption was finalized and my Mom had passed away I stopped work to focus on my children. My FM wasn't diagnosed until about 3 years ago. I find that I can no longer perform as a musician professionally and that my cognitive malfunctions and physical disabilities keep me from even doing sedentary office work. My FM is accompanied by Rheumatory & Osteoarthritis, Bursitis, Fatty Liver, TMJ, IBS, Migraines and dizziness. Being that I was basically a self-employed musician/instructor, I wonder if I'm eligible or not?

You need to fill out the forms and submit them and it takes a while before you get approved. Even ifyou were not contributing to social security you can file. Log on to the social security web site for more information. Remember if they refuse you the first time you can refile an appeal. In some states the system is so backed up it will take several years for your case to be looked at.
Guest guest
I applied for disability-with a lot of the same symptoms that you have. I had been self-employed for the last 7 years. You can apply as long as you included your self-employment income on your tax return. Good luck. It's been 13 months since I filed this time. I hired an attorney because I've been turned down twice and am now waiting for a hearing date. > > I was a general music teacher at a private school over ten years ago. > After my children's adoption was finalized and my Mom had passed away > I stopped work to focus on my children.
