Guest guest
The grey or black on one of the silver wires is normal. I typically brew my CS for 3 hours and after each hour or so I wipe the wires clean. The gold speck on the other wire I’m not sure what that is. Are you using distilled water? Could be an impurity in the water. -Tom From: momlita55 Sent: Thursday, April 21, 2011 1:34 AM Subject: HELP with CS. results?? 1.I got a machine for making colloidal silver and I make 1 hour per one cup and I notice that ONE of the filaments have the grey powder that was covering the filament but the other has like a little bit of gold color there. I wonder if only just one of the silver filaments was working and the other not??/if that will be the scenario Does the colloidal silver still will be fine.the color at the end was compleately clear. Guest guest
I get that also but clean my wires every hour. What makes for higher PPM? The best I can get now is 18. My first batch was 25. Guest guest
according the the mfr, it's safer to use lower ppm, and take more of it. making less ppm gives a finer particle size. bG > > I get that also but clean my wires every hour. > > What makes for higher PPM? Guest guest
Your machine's working fine. Silver is only discharged from one electrode, the anode. The other trode, the cathode, provides a pathway, or completes a circuit for flow of electricity between both electrodes when submerged in water - the action of electrolysis, same as a car battery, one trode is positive and the other is negative. If both electrodes are silver, and you have the ability to alternate polarity or can swap those trodes over, I suggest you do so, as you will maintain even wear on both electrodes instead of pulling silver off only one all the time. The discolouration is a normal part of electrolysis. I recommend you remove those trodes each 30 minutes to wipe them clean with paper towel before resubmerging them - if you think they need cleaning or not. That 'gold' colour could be hydrogen bubbles adhering to the negative electrode, the cathode, which forms a fuzzy pale colour in appearance. The trode which releases silver into the water, the anode, will take on a black appearance which I believe is silver oxide buildup on the positive electrode. Just clean those trodes at regular intervals and you shouldn't have too much trouble. Be prepared for one of your batches to turn lemon or more yellowish in colour, as producing this stuff in the home is an art, not a science, and there are many factors which may influence the appearance of one batch to another.
