It should work as long as you are using AC and not pulsed DC. Also, if you can

feel the " thumping " then that indicates there is enough voltage.

The reasons Bob Beck did not use DC at the wrist electrodes are:

1) To make sure there was no ion migration due to the DC and

2) To use AC to more effectively " punch " through the skin's capacitive effect.

I do not know exactly how to find out if it is AC, but there is

at OFFSET knob that I can set. I have been setting it all the way clockwise to

use it as a Zapper. This is in regard to the CLark theory that positve offset is

best etc. I am guessing that if I do not have any offset at all the output of

the function generator would be pure AC. There seems to be a bit of controversy

in regard to the positive offset theory, but I am assuming most if not all

zappers have

a positive offset. Also apparently lots of people have been using

both the Beck 4HzAC and the 30KHZ with positive offset with no

negative side effects etc.
