Guest guest
Hi everyone, I was wondering if some of you guys had time if you'd like to share with me the medications and supplements you are taking and what they are for that have helped you. I am seeing a brand new Dr tomorrow and would like to see what may work for me. I am not sure yet of his knowledge on Fibro but was recommended him for my back. He is General Practice so of course will refer me out for my back. But just incase he is knowledgeable I would like to finally get started on some of the things that may help because I was unable to due to lack of health insurance. I now have full coverage of all Dr visits as well as prescriptions with no co-pay. So it's time to get this old body in shape. I have seen ya'll post several times about "Vitamin D" also something with letters in the name like TH5 or 3 something like that. I take 60 mg Cymbalta 1 x day 10 mg Flexeril 3 X day along with hydrocodone 10/650 mg 4 x day percocet as needed for severe pain I would like to get something for nighttime sleep. Of course I have all my regular meds for Thyroid and blood pressure. Any suggestions you have is wonderful but if you are tired or short on time please don't feel the need to reply. I for one know how it is to sit here in pain. Well tomorrow is my big day with the new Dr... wish me luck.. I am so excited. I have heard nothing but wonderful things about him. Thanks to all for support as I have been dealing with this back pain for past 6 months. Gena No virus found in this outgoing message. Guest guest
Hi Gena, I have found the following helpful in coping with my Fibro. 60mg Cymbalta daily (definitely helps with the nerve pain in my legs) my primary doctor suggested I take Venastat 2 x day on an empty stomach for my restless leg, slow circulation issue you can buy Venastat (Google it) at just about any pharmacy. You may not find it on the shelves, but may have to ask the pharmacist for it, as they may keep it behind the counter. It's all natural and not a prescription. I've definitely seen a difference. At night I take 3mg Lunesta, 1 mg Klonopin, 7.5 mg Meloxicam (Mobic). If really bad I take 2 Flexeril as well. I've begun drinking a lot of water and find that it seems to help as well. The days I don't drink enough water, I pay for it the next day with elevated pain. I've also recently began a regiment of vitamins and am seeing quite a bit of difference. They are: LVR - liver rejuvenates liver function (my liver enzymes began getting elevated due to all the meds, this has helped bring them down) Vitamin E Complex with Mixed Tocopherols & Tocotrienols - 2 in AM - Helps with detoxification, to remove free radicals from body, is an anti-oxidant protectant, good for heart & colon as well. Super Enzymes - 2 in AM, 2 in PM - (I buy the "Now" product ) - I find this really helps with my sluggish digestive system. It supports healthy digestion, breaks down fats, carbs & protein, Optimizes nutrient uptake Garlic - Natural softgels - 1500 mg daily - take in AM - Supports healthy cholesterol CoQ10 - 1 Am, 1 PM - for Cardiovascular health & promotes cellular energy Vitamin D - 400 IU - 1 Am, 1 Pm - for strong bones & dental health Folic Acid - 400mcg - 1 in AM Vitamin C - 1000 with Bioflavonoids (buffered so it doesn't bother my stomach) - 1 in AM - helps with my immune system (when dealing with CFS, my doctor has had me on anywhere from 2,000-6,000mg daily - you just have to be careful because if you take too much you will get diarrhea. You just have to kind of see how much your body will tolerate) Zinc - 50mg - 1 Am - for Immune System as well as kidney, liver, pancreas & brain support Ultra Omega-3 with 500 EPA / 250 DHA - 1 Am , 1 PM - for heart, cholesterol, brain function Glucosamine & Chondroitin with MSM - 2 Am, 1 PM - I have found this to be a HUGE help with my muscle & joint pain (if you don't take any other vitamin, take this one) Probiotic Acidophilus - 1 in AM on empty stomach - Promotes Intestinal Health Calcium-Magnesium (Vegetarian) Complex - 1000mg Calcium, 500mg Magnesium - 1 Am, 1 PM I know, it seems like a lot.....but it has definitely helped. You of course should always check with your doctor or nutritionist to make sure you need these and that none of them affect the medication you are taking. I am still dealing with numbness in my arms, pain in my wrists, hands going numb, shooting pains in my neck & hands. But.....things are getting a bit better. Good Luck to you.
