Guest guest
Hi Gena, welcome back! I do hope you eventually get all of these medical issues taken care of! I know there is a waiting for most everyone that is scheduled to see specialist. Then, once you see them it is a waiting game all over again for results and what is needed next. I have gone through this with my husband who had a heart condition that is serious. So, I feel your pain in this respect. In the meantime, I hope the dr. can keep you comfortable until the next step. You are in my thoughts. I was in so much pain and crying that my mom took me to the ER in Little Rock. > You know how you see it on TV in big cities where people wait 6 hours to get in and they have patients piled in the halls in beds? Well this was just how this ER was. I was in line with people who had been there 4 hours. We got there at 3PM and left at like 8:30 PM. My ER Dr. was wonderful and he looked at my MRI's and said who told you that you don't need surgery and I told him the Dr.'s name and he said go figure you need not say more. He gave me some pain shots called " Stadol " and some nausea meds and said Hun you will feel better in 10 minutes. In only 5 minutes, I was so out of pain felt so good since I have been in pain since March this year. He gave me Demerol pills from home and said please talk with your PCP right away and to see if he could get me into a " Neurologist " . > Well I seen my Dr. the next day and told him I did not like the surgeon he sent me to because he never explained fully what was wrong and never went over my MRI films or anything. He gave me some pain shots in the office and scheduled me to see " Neurologist " a in our town. He is the only " Neurologist " we have in this town and he is very busy so I seen him Monday for the first time. I then went back today for the nerve test and he says I have nerve damage. I have been walking with a walker since the last of June. It has helped get around. Now remember we have no surgeons here so we have to go to other towns. This " Neurologist " is very nice to me and very knowledgeable and said are you on disability and I said no sir my lawyer is helping me apply and he said that's very good. I seen the " Neurologist " again on July 31 to explain my MRI's with me. Ya Ya I know small town and they keep you coming back in stead of doing all at once. He will be gone 2 weeks in August so needless to say I am put off longer. The plan is to get me to St. Louis, Missouri to see a well know surgeon there. > > Well now you are caught up on my back. I will now share with you the other illness I acquired necessitating a hospital stay. > I woke up Tuesday, July 1 morning with a huge swollen left breast. Very painful twice the size of the other and reddish purple and a fever of 102*. It was a very hard day to get through and at 8:30PM I called my mom and said please drive over to look at it. So she did and right away she said she was taking me to our ER. I was in there from 9PM until 2:30 AM at which time the blood work showed a massive infection. They said I was being " Neurologist " admitted. They diagnosed me with " Mastitis " which is a common ailment in " Nursing Mothers " . So ok here I am 43 and a hysterectomy and wondering ok how did I get this. They had no clue to offer me. Well my mom said to me if I had something I needed to share with her. Ha/Ha it was a needed joke to cheer me up. So anyway I was admitted and put on fluids and 3 intravenous antibiotics around the clock. I got out the hospital at 3PM on the 4th of July but was unable to partake in the festivities of the Holiday due to pain and being ill. My parents took my 12-year- old son to a Firework display and I lie in my bed looking out my window at my neighbors displays. I went this afternoon for a follow up and my Dr. felt and discovered " 2 Lumps " and scheduled me for a " Mammogram and Ultrasound of my Breasts. I have that on July 17 at 12:30PM. So here I sit not knowing for a week. So I have updated ya'll on my dilemma of my health thus far. I have read all ya'lls wonderful e~mails and wish all those sick or in pain much healing and relief. > > God Bless all ya'll and Thank You for sharing in my story. > > Gena > > > No virus found in this outgoing message. > Checked by AVG - http://www.avg.com > Version: 8.0.138 / Virus Database: 270.4.7/1543 - Release Date: 7/9/2008 6:32 PM >
Guest guest
Gena; praying for you too. Back in 1997 they found some lumps it turned out to be a fluid filled cyst. right after the mammogram they did a Sonogram where the lump was. Told me to come back next week i did then they numbed the breast and withdrew the fluids.I am almost 52 post menopausal no HRT at all due to my heart troubles too. But I always get my mammogram and do my Self Breast Exam (SBE) on the 12th of each month. Our own Donna Deegan use to be donna Hicken here in ville with buddy check 12 is battling Breast cancer again for a third time. Go take a look at her site. She is a wonderful inspiration to all who have this dreadeed disease. I wish what she has done for Breast cancer we could do for fibromyaliga. Guest guest
Oh Gena, it makes me in pain just to read what you have been through. Thank God for the shots that gave you some relief. Well, you and I will be having tests done on the same day. I will be having an MRI of my head and ultrasounds of my carotid arteries and my heart. So, I'll say a prayer for you on your mammograms and you say a prayer for me on my tests and we'll be good to go. I'm hoping they don't find anything on my tests and hope yours are clear too. I am hoping and praying that you see a great neurologist and get the help you need pronto!!!!!!!
