Guest guest
Hello everyone, Just thought I would drop in and say Hi and give you the latest from the kitchen. This recipe is kinda high in sodium but is very quick, very easy and quite tasty. EASY Bean Soup Ingredients: 1 Quart water 8 level teaspoons sodium free instant bouillon (I used Wyler's brand) 2 16 oz cans Fat Free Refried Beans (I used taco bell brand) A little garlic and onion powder and/or peper to taste. Directions are simple...put water into 2 quart pan, heat and add bouillon. Stir to disolve then add refried beans 1 can at a time stirring to disolve and mix. once both cans are added heat through and serve. Makes 8 8oz. servings. Nutrition facts (from the lables - per 8 oz. serving of soup) Calories 97.5 Fat cal 0 Potassium 470mg Sodium 472mg Carbohydarate 18g fiber 4.4g sugar 1.9g Protein 5.25g Variations: You can also add chopped carrots, celery, onions, peppers (or what ever) and simmer in bouillion broth until tender then add beans. Or, remove a cup (or 2) of water from the quart measure and replace with low sodium V8. If you like a " ham flavor " add a drop or two of liquid smoke. The variations are endless...but this is the basic recipe. Enjoy Michele & Gillie http://www.geocities.com/dogmatic3/
