A good rheumatologist; and a question about prolotherapy

Hallelujah! After years of searching I finally found a good rheumatologist -- he

actually

specializes in fibromyalgia. Unfortunately, I have to drive about an hour and a

half to see him.

I think it's worth it in order to go to a specialist who does more than simply

offer me an anti-

inflammatory and tell me to go away. ( like the rheumatologists in my area)

This leads me to several questions.

One, does anyone know a good way to make long drives easier? I was totally

drained last

night from the trip and still feel a bit " hung over " this morning.

The second one is more complicated. After my exam, the doctor recommended Plan A

and

Plan B. The first is to check my thyroid, as he suspects that its low. And this

is preventing my

body from healing normally. If that's not the culprit, he would recommend doing

prolotherapy injections where I have the most pain. Has anyone had this done,

and if so, has

it helped? It's a big risk for me to start doing this procedure, because it

would require

multiple drives to his office for one, and my insurance would not cover it.

Thanks for listening,

Laurie
