Guest guest
> Cheryl; Yes it can. I have HYPO thyroid ism it is all under control. but when it is out of control i am very temperature sensitive, get constipated easily, and get aches and pains. I have had thyroid trouble since the age of 12 been through sonograms, punch needle Biopsies, Fine Needle aspirations (PNB) & (FNA)' but in 2006 I had 3/4 of mine removed due to the autoimmune disease Hashimotores thyroid itis 3/4 of it was hard as frozen chocolate. so please get your thyroid checked and if you do have low thyroid keep it under control or your fibro symptoms will be double. I am so glad my Neuro-endocrine sees me every 6 months and I can even tell when it is acting up too. But Best of luck.. I hope I helped you but like I said thyroid trouble since age 12 then 3/4 of it out in July 2006 that Nov i was Dx'd with fibromyalgia My DR's;'s think my thyroid was masking it all and when that much came out it reared its ugly head. hugs Heidi > Hi all i have a question that i hope someone can answer > please.............Would anyone know if its possible that if a person has something wrong > with the thyroid, could that produce symptoms of Fibro? > > Thanks in advance for any help. Guest guest
[The following is an excerpt from an article on Medicinenet. It seems "some people are allergic to all traditional pain medications." Carlene] Pain Awareness and Management (cont.) MODERATOR: What about pain from something like fibromyalgia, or headaches? OAKLEY: Traditionally we're talking about all kinds of pain, because almost all kinds of pain can be addressed with one or more of the interventional pain techniques. There are a lot of pain diagnoses that are considered to be more traditionally and perhaps optimally treated with noninterventional treatments; one of those would be fibromyalgia, which is better treated perhaps with medicines and behavioral management and physical therapy techniques. MEMBER QUESTION: I have had 19 surgeries due to connective tissue disorders. Being allergic to all traditional pain medications, my surgeons are at a loss on how to help with post-op pain. Are there options to managing my case better? OAKLEY: These are particularly difficult problems but there are some new approaches to this. One particularly interesting approach is at the incision area where the surgery has been performed is to place a small catheter under the skin and then to use a small pump, which delivers local anesthetic directly to the incision area. "For people who are very allergic to many of the pain-controlling medications, there are interventional techniques." MEMBER QUESTION: What is available to people who are highly allergic to pain medications? OAKLEY: For people that are very allergic to many of the pain-controlling medications, there are interventional techniques which can occasionally be applied to give relief. http://www.medicinenet.com/script/main/art.asp?articlekey=53865 & page=2 > > From: mesissy711@... mesissy711@...> Subject: [HeidiLiane] QUESTION PLEASE> HeidiLiane > Date: Friday, January 9, 2009, 4:25 PM> > > > > > > > Hi and Happy New Year to all.
