Guest guest
Has anyone tried the " Nascent Iodine " found at http://www.thyroidnascentiodine.com/products.htm ? I ordered both the iodine and the magnesium and am waiting for it to arrive. I have been taking the Idoral 12.5 and this site compares it to both Idurol and Lugals. Guest guest
Magnascent is .150 mgs per drop. Divide the number of milligrams you want to obtain by .150 and that will give you the number of drops of Magnascent. Steph new here> > > > Hi everyone...> > I'm new here. Guest guest
Steph, So if I was taking 3 of armour before, how many drops of magnascent would that be? Also, wondered, for at least 10 yrs(54now) I have had hot hands, warm body all the time even when it is cold-tolerate cold really well, but find at night in winter-live in desert- need to put cap on head to keep heat from escaping in order to fall asleep easier. Then ok after that. HOT hands are so uncomfortable all the time. Wondered if this was due to hypo. And off of armour/NT for month now and sleep is light and waken mid night. MD won't renew /prescribe till next visit next week. So using magnascent. Also is kosher salt good or does it have to be sea salt? Thanks, > > > > Welcome! Guest guest
I don't understand what armour has to do with getting from .150 mg Magnesent to 12.5 - 50 mgs of Iodide (remember that Magnascent is only one form not both as Iodoral and Lugol's are - Iodine & Iodide). Guest guest
, Armour is thyroid, magnascent is iodine. You don’t trade them off. They help in different ways. Kind of like saying “How many apples equals an orange?”. Also kosher salt is still processed. Look at it, it is white. That is salt that has been processed to remove all the other minerals. You want unprocessed salt, some is sea salt, some from mines, but it must be unprocessed. The most popular are Celtic, which is gray, Himalayan, which is pink, and Redmonds, which is brownish/red. Guest guest
Everything is a learning curve.I read others are on armour, nt, lugols, or iodoral and once in awhile, magnascent, so still learning which is better, which is what, and so forth. Also no one is mentioning menopause etc. As in traditional readings say iron is not needed once you stop menses etc. So, lugols and iodoral is better because they both have iodine and iodide? But I don't want to deal with the detox yet, some are talking about, not yet, no $ for all the tests and extra supplements and so forth. I was referred to magnascent, but after reading it would seem either ordering lugols or iodoral is the better? way to go? And you get either without prescription? Or can you? Then skip NT or armour altogether? Much appreciate the learning. Also enjoyed your taping. Thank you for elaborating on my ?s. ps. still wondering why hands are always so hot. > > > > > > Welcome! Guest guest
Thanks Donna. So, when it comes available again, I go back on armour and order/use Iodoral or Lugols so I can have both my " apples and oranges " ?!!! Or not? Forgive me for being befuddled. Guest guest
Yes ! Some people may be able to lower their dose of Armour as their body heals, but some do not. The iodine is just necessary in general to help your body, the Armour is replacing what your thyroid is not making, in simple terms. I know someone out there can explain it in more technical terms, but I like the simple. The whole salt will give you all the minerals that your body needs to use/process the sodium correctly. White processed salt makes people retain water, but the whole salt does not do that – ok, there are a few exceptions, but there are usually other complications. When you take the whole salt, it helps grab the toxins your body is releasing with the iodine, and carry them out of your body. That is why you want to take it when taking iodine. The recommendation is to take ½ tsp salt sometime in the hour (or so) after you take your iodine, with plenty of water. Then use it liberally throughout the day on your food, or just eat it to give your more toxin clearing power. Hope that helps! Guest guest
You sound like the majority of people on the list who have benefited greatly from the iodine protocol. Be sure you take the appropriate companion nutrients for the whole protocol. I know Steph is really busy and I am more than willing to get any info onto this blog on these pages or other pages we could add that would help with some of the questions we get on the list from new members over and over. Thu Jan 21, 2010 5:46 am (PST) Hi, my name is Autumn, and I am new here. Someone recommended this site to me from the thyroid group I belong too. I am 36 years old. My problems are severe fatigue, anxiety, weight gain, mood changes, and headaches I have low iron and ferritin. Iron is 44 and ferritin is 16. I just had my blood work done this week for thyroid and it all comes back normal, the low end of normal, but still in the normal range. Will Iodine help me? Guest guest
Excellent job Engtovo! I have been reading since 8:30am. Very informative. I also book marked it for future reference.I know my adrenals are fatigued. I have always complained to my doctors that I always feel like I'm on speed. Hopefully I can get my doctor to test my cortisol levels because I have all of the symptoms of adrenal problems.I know I need to reduce my stress levels and calm myself down, but are there any other supplements that I can take to help heal this and get back on track? I'm taking iodoral, 1 a day so far and the supplements and salt. Guest guest
, the Rhodiola e really seems to help mine. And LTheanine. And adrenal cortex, tho i admit i havent been faithful taking that (too many pills sometimes!) but some of the knowledgable ones here have said thats the only way to rebuild the adrenal tissue and i agree. Guest guest
This extract from Adele 's book" lets get well speaks" to the need of B vitamins and in the case below of E If the diet has been deficient in protein, vitamin e or the B vitamins sufficient pituitary hormone cannot be produced. Vit E which is concentrated in the pituitary gland more than any other part of the body, is thought to be particularly essential. It prevents both the pituitary and the andrenal hormones from being destroyed by oxygen. The andrenal cortex is even more sensitive to dietary deprivation. A pantothenic-acid deficiency causes the glands to shrivel and to become filled with blood and dead cells. cortisone and other hormones cannot be produced and the many protective changes charecteristic of stress do not occur. Even a slight lack of pantothenic acid causes a marked decrease in the quantities released. The pituitary, adrenal, and sex hormones are all made from cholesterol but without pantotheic acid, cholesterol cannot be replaced in the cells after being used up. There have been a number of references in post to andrenal issues and the above throws some light on the problem. Her books are available on Amazon, Alibris. Sometimes very cheap but increasingly going up in price as they become collectors items. david .. Guest guest
lol you already convinced me with the other post about how it effects the feet, something ive had forever! That and with what i already read about how it effects adrenals makes me know I'm deficient. Guest guest
Thanks Cherly. This supplements stuff is getting expensive. I guess I'll just have to buy things here and there and in the mean time replace what I'm running out of.I'm so tired of struggling financially and that is my biggest stressor. I eat a well balanced diet and I just wish I could heal by eating right and my living habits. I think I'm not worrying and stressing, but maybe deep down inside I am. from IllinoisFrom: cheryl_b_1 <mossyforrest@...>iodine Sent: Fri, January 22, 2010 9:38:50 AMSubject: Re:New Here , the Rhodiola e really seems to help mine. Guest guest
The below financial issues is a problem yes. Many would like to have all the tests and supplements but realistically can't afford them. When I get asked by suppliers to get involved, my first question is " Can a family of four (example), on a limited income afford to add this product on? " It can get ridiculous. The diet is major, knowing what foods to avoid (like the stuff in boxes/cans mislabelled " food " ). And knowing which have chemicals is the best place to start and makes a major difference. One good thing is the important basics like iodine, magnesium, vit c, D can be found inexpensively shopping around. Farmers markets when available are great. Ditto gardens. I see why there were pioneers in the 1700's more now. Sometimes knowing one is going in the right direction helps a lot. One step in the right direction beats ten miles in the wrong one. " I just wish I could heal by eating right and my living habits. " Ditto for us all, but we are way ahead of the game knowing about iodine (and supporting nutrients), and gaining daily in what we know here. A distict advantage. Guest guest
I know how that can be. Sticking with the iodine and the protocol is the most important, other supps mostly move the healing/detoxing process faster. It's easy to want to try them all(and i have a bucketful of unused supplements to prove it) and most expensive is rarely better. Swansons is the cheapest Ive founds and they have most brands and I dont own stock ;-) Cheryl > > Thanks Cherly. This supplements stuff is getting expensive. Guest guest
And salt load. >> I am really glad I found this group. I started taking 50 mg of Iodine a couple of days ago, and ended up with leg cramps. I guess I need to take more Magnesium for it? I take plenty of Potassium, so I know that isn't it. > > >
Guest guest
Engtovo. Then this may interest you, This looks like low calcium levels, this from Adele : Because low calcium levels act as a stress, the production of cortisone and aldosterone are stimulated and salt and water are retained in the body, often causing the breasts, hands ,face, feet to swell weight to increase 5-10 pounds If the blood calcium has been allowed to drop so low as to cause stress causing puffiness and weight gain generous amounts of protein,Vit C, pantotheniv acid(B5) are needed in addition to D3, calcium and magnesium. Guest guest
Bruce, The post I sent was directly related to womens problems. Monthly cycles. How it might be for men is unclear to me at present.
