Hi all,

Thought you might be interested in this

article since so many people with FMS have thyroid problems. Some of us have

thyroid disorders and may not even know it! Sometimes it is hard to distinguish

what ailments are due to which illness since we often have many coexisting

conditions with symptoms that overlap. (I went around this year having

mono and didn’t even know it – I am so used to feeling lousy!)

The article discusses much more than just

the medications and there is a link at the end to get more information.

Excerpt:

Q. What is thyroid

dysfunction?

A.

Thyroid dysfunction occurs when the thyroid gland isn't working properly.

Located in the lower front part of the neck, the thyroid gland makes hormones

that regulate metabolism--chemical processes in the body that affect how we use

energy. When the thyroid gland produces too much hormone, it's known as

hyperthyroidism or overactive thyroid. When this gland doesn’t produce

enough hormone, it's known as hypothyroidism or underactive thyroid.
