Guest guest
Hi All, In the WUSTL studies' glucose tolerance tests, I found the 75 g, less than 300 calories to kill hunger well until lunch after an 11- hour fast. In AL, I could down 2 liters of ice cream in an hour to consume more than I eat now all day. All the AL while, I was less than average in BMI. Something gave AL and gives CR me the ability to attain lower than average BMIs. Mom has been saying that last couple of days that, these 81-year- old days, she has little appetite due to diminished taste of foods that she used to enjoy. About the only thing she looked forward to eating is a boiled large egg with a sprinkle of salt. I told her to have two of them instead of her one-a-day egg. They are less expensive per pound than hamburger meat or the chicken she does prefer. She takes one slice of margarined bread as her evening meal. She could put a large egg on margarined bread and microwave it for a mess-free warm mini-meal. No, she wants to have no more than one egg per day, although the latest medical studies seem to say cholesterol in foods is not a risk for those who are her age. Mom would have no difficulty were she to be a diabetic. Me, I still relish a 2-liter box of ice cream. Certainly, a DQ hot fudge sundae would be good. A large glass of blended, sugared real strawberries mixed with liquors in Chicago was my best-tasting alcoholic drink. Two of those would be quite nice for me anytime. Sweet dreams, they are. Speaking of which, I was dreaming many times that I can recall with awakenings in between. Included in these dreams, I was eating my regular mini-meals with a companion somewhere indeterminate when they chewed and spit out some of their food into my food stock for the day. I wished not to waste it without detection, so when no one could see me I poured off most of his food waste with the liquid contends of the food stock. It then suddenly dried and I put it into a cardboard box to transfer to a plastic bag for later consumption. It was difficult. Later, I was walking on a trail such as the Kitsuksis Creed Dike trail and found berries that we call salmonberries (orange or red blackberry-like berries that are less sweet and more bland). I ate a few and later came upon some more that were still ripening but nearly ripe and so less sour than the unripe salmonberries. Cheers, Alan Pater
