Guest guest
Research has been done on Air Traffic Controllers... The Civil Aerospace Medical Institute has done some research on us. During a briefing when I first came into the Federal Aviation Administration, I learned a few interesting medical facts: 1. The average human's mental reaction time peaks around age 32. This is why the FAA's cutoff for hiring Controllers is no later than the 32nd birthday. 2. Statistically, women respond better to mental stress in both speed and accuracy. Ironically, most Controllers are men! (did I mention my husband is also a Controller???) You see, I was looking for a way to bend the curve of 32 when I found CRON. I also knew it was only a matter of time until a serious illness or disease found me. Although many of my retired co-workers didn't get to, I want to be around for my 60th birthday. I'd love to see CAMI look into the issues of nutrition as they pertain to our health. It would be fantastic to see Federal Govn't funding for a cause which, if presented correctly, could trickle down to the " food pyramid " presented to our children in elementary schools! Thanks for your input!
