Guest guest
Hi there ...I saw your message about IBS symptoms you're experiencing. You know I've mentioned my relapse, here. The horrific symptoms. And how I've returned to all-natural...homemade everything!!! And now I'm feeling better. Well, right now I'm thinking that maybe if you tried my backcurrant-flaxseed mixture...it may give you normalcy, too. And may remove some of the pain! Many years ago, I was lucky enough to get a second-hand copy, of a little-known book. From a concept in the book I devised my blackcurrant-mixture. I eat this every morning for breakfast. This mixture got me regular, and does so, again. The blackcurrants permanently cured a deep-dull ache in my throat. The sore throat still remains. But the dull-ache-throbbing's never returned. It cures (for me!) constipation. But only as long as I continue eating the mixture. No more burning throughout my system. I seem to have more energy etc. I submitted this Blackcurrant Recipe to Dom for her newsletter, October 20 issue. Plus update in November 1 issue. Brain-fog is a real issue for me. My once photographic memory is shattered. So, pulling a lot of information together, still puzzles me! I forgot to include in the newsletter recipe that... this recipe has a YOUTHIFYING effect! Yep. Just ask my husband. Recently, into the second-week of this diet...my husband looked at me, saying: "You're back...you look so young!" I'm 56-years-old so a nice compliment. But the blotchiness had gone, my skin smoothed out etc etc! Hope I'm not waffling on. But, I'd love it if you tried this blackcurrant mixture. And it helped you, too. hugs your Aussie Fibro Sister Carlene
Guest guest
Thanks so much, I'm going to look for the recipe in the posts and give it a try. Can't hurt anything right? You mentioned sore throat...what does that have to do with the IBS. I have a constant dull sore throat, which from what I've read is a symptom of FMS. Hugs H. Guest guest
This proves my brain-fog's...foggier than ever. I forgot to suggest that you do your own research. And get as much information as you can, about any of the ingredients, in the Blackcurrant Recipe. I know Dominie has warned about L-Arginine in walnuts. I only chop up about 1 - 2 walnuts, anyway. But, now I'm a bit leery about them. Whether any of the ingredients can re-act to meds you're taking...I don't know. I only know that this mixture (along with gluten-free, cane-sugar- free, eating less starches, making homemade soups, and yoghurt etc) has helped me tremendously. Without the blackcurrant mixture I know now - from the recent relapse - that I end up very, very sick. As though my system's poisoned! Another thing...I don't drink any alcohol because it also makes me ill. I know blackcurrants have a very high Vit.C content. Is flaxseed okay to ingest when taking medications? I don't know. Until I submitted this recipe to Dominie I had never typed it out. It was just something I did. So, really, it's untried anywhere. I was isolated on a country property. Without access to internet - or GP's or naturopaths to consult with when I started eating this. I took a punt, and it paid off. But, what works for one...may not work for another. I assume that there must be healthcare professionals reading the Message Board who may be able to offer further enlightenment. Therefore, your question: " Can't hurt anything, right? " is a good one! About the sore throat. As far as I know this is a typical symptom of CFS/Fibro. I was simply making a comparison. How the blackcurrants (I think it's the GLA in blackcurrants)cured the deep, dull aching-throb in my throat. And yet, I still have a sore, itchy throat that feels like there's a lump in the right side. But these are definately two different symptoms. Let us know anything your research uncovers. The good, and the bad. Hopefully, nothing bad LOL Hope I've covered everything. I don't seem to be able to connect all the dots, like I used to. It's like there's a brain-barrier. But the Message Board allows us to update info. which is good. If I think of anything else I'll let you know. Guest guest
Thanks Carlene, believe me like most of us we forgive and forget, ha ha, when someones doesn't give us all the info we need. I wrote down the blackcurrant mixture, but what's in it so I know what I'm looking for. In googling this I've seen a powder or you can spread over a cake. Can you give me some of the ingredients so I'll know. I don't like walnuts so it's no problem leaving those out. If this will help the pain, I'll be so indebted to you. I'm on much medication including these horrible pain pills and have been in a flare for gosh I think almost 3 wks maybe? I'm not sure anymore. I ordered Thermophore heating pad. It's great for people like up because we don't have to add water, the humidity takes care of that and it has a switch that you control. It's great. The size I got is big enough to get both shoulders for your entire back at one time. Sorry for getting off the subject. Any ingredients for this blackcurrant recipe would be appreciated. Hugs to you H.
