Guest guest
Hi ! Boy,We could be twins! It's kind of funny,I just said to my mom last night,"Boy do my joints in my hands hurt!" And my hands & feet fall asleep 100 times more now that I have Fibro. And,Oh Dear,in the morning,I have said sooo many times that I think a 80 yr. old is in better shape then I am! It seems to take me hours to really get moving! Like if I have to try and go & get groceries! And the snoring,ha ha, My mom was in Pitt. hospital for about a week, she was very ill, me & my niece and her 7 month old got a hotel room, due to my mom having a operation & me being so tired and sore from riding all those miles! Anyways, when I finally fell asleep,my nieces daughter kept getting up in the middle of the night and crying for a little while & go back to sleep & repeated this probably 3 or 4 times, and I'm thinking,"Why is this kid going this! She never does it any other time that I know of?!" When we got up in the morning and was getting ready to go to the hospital to see my mom,I asked my niece about it all. She told me she was crying because I was snoring so loud that I must of scared her & she would wake up crying & then when I quit she would fall back to sleep until I started snoring so loud again! ha ha! I explained to her, I had no idea that I was even snoring & kept thinking,Why is this kid crying & waking me up all night! And actually it was the other way around ha ha! We got a chuckle out of it! Guest guest
,Hi, this is from Maine. I too have the hands falling asleep thing. It happens when I drive too. Sometimes when I cook. I have also said that sometimes, especially like yesterday when I was out at the barn with my horses, when I run my fingers under water they burn. Even if it is not cold. OH and when I cook. Even if I put the cold water on them.It is like when your fingers get frozen outside and you put them under lukewarm water to thaw them. It is the weirdest thing. I don't have the stiffness issue. I do have increased weakness in both hands and pain in them. My feet only hurt because I have Planter Faceitise.I assume the numbness in my hands comes from my neck problems but who knows. New things are always popping up.Here is a moment of Fibro fog for you. I was in the car yesterday going to the barn and I had just learned that I was being asked to teach a seminar at a big horse Expo in Jan.. So I was thinking to myself then I said to my assistant and best friend " I wonder what I should teach the seminar in" She looked perplexed and said "Clothing". I looked back and said. "what the heck are you talking about I am not going to talk about my design background this is a horse expo" Finally after bantering back and forth I realized I should have said "I wonder what I should teach the seminar on" Oh, the laugh I got and I had to apologize for calling her not "present".Glad you are here. Keep talking and reading it helps.Gentle hugs from my pugs and me,SueFrom: Palm <southernyankee7457@...>dominie Sent: Wednesday, November 12, 2008 8:14:54 AMSubject: Hurting hands... I have been sitting for the last hour reading all the texts for the last week. Seeing the photos was a real treat. Someone was talking about their hands (fingers) hurting. I have noticed that lately it seems that one of my hands falls asleep more often during the night. I wake up and it feels like it is so numb & swollen, but yet it looks normal. Also, my fingers and hands hurt so bad I have to get up using my elbows for support. If I was to try to close my hands in the morning it actually feels like my fingers are popping out of joint. I can even see them "thump" back and forth at the joint. It is so weird feeling! I usually hold them under very warm water to get them moving again. My feet feel the same way. I have to use the walls for support until my feet start working. I feel 90 years old in the morning! As for sleep ... I go up and down with that. It seems that for weeks I'll be so tired I fall asleep @ 8pm. I sleep so deeply I snore! Then it will switch and I'm so tired I nearly cry for wanting to sleep. That's when I'll get out the "Simply Sleep" and pop a few. They seem to help me sleep without getting the morning headache. Lately I have "thoughts" that just seem to run in and out of my head. I'll fall asleep by 9pm and then around 11 pm I'm laying there with "thoughts". Fall asleep and wake up again around 2am with "thoughts". Sometimes they are "did I pay this?" and then my stomach starts to cramp with worry. My memory is the pits! My husband and I left the house with my sons (22 & 23 yrs old) and we moved on base at Mayport, FL ... living in a 5th wheel. What a great move that was! Less travel for him (we lived in Kingsland, GA) and now I have a friend to have coffee with, and to walk/exercise with. I'm 51 and she is 81, and she can run circles around me! We walk on a daily basis now, and even though I still hurt, it feels so good to just be out in the fresh air. Before I met "Lou" I would only walk on the days I had my granddaughter here (2-3 days a week). I quit all my meds except Requip (RLS is worse than pain!) and Lipitor. I can't seem to see where the others worked ... the last I tried was Neurontin, and after a month of that I saw no change, so go rid of it. I keep reading all your texts and they are so helpful - but just haven't found that "med" that works for me yet. It is so heartwarming to read how you all find humor in all this pain. Laughter really is the best medicine! (Kingsland/Mayport)
