I had the symptoms from 1994 till I was diagonsed in 2006. In 2004 I had tetnus shot, Hepatis A & Hep B shots for we were vol. Community Emergency Response Team (JAXCERT) Members through our fire rescue dept. No more.then in 2007 a pnumonia shot dr's orders each year I got pnumonia too and bronchitis. But had all these shots then in 2006 gott he dx of fibromyalgia,MPS and some others too that go with it. I am wondering too. Maybe it could be the metal in the needles too. Worth researching some more too. Hey Dom do you think If I wrote UF researchers in Gainsville also Ad Dr. Rolaund Staud he might want to look into it. Since he does other research on fibromyaglia patients. Just an idea also what do you all think to see what there response would be. Guest guest
This would be interesting to find out. If their using metals that can have allergic reactions or not would be interesting. Though you'd think they wouldn't be using metals known to cause problems. Who knows? > > Oh My Gosh ladies. > I had the symptoms from 1994 till I was diagonsed in 2006. Guest guest
Aluminum does leach into our food, that is why it discolors with acid food. Stainless steel you would really have to scrape it hard to get a shaving off of it. Teflon is to be phased out in a couple years. There are pans that are called green pans, they are on HSN. They are so much better than Teflon. Sandie -- Re: Shots & Fibro Dominie???? You're absolutely right. I guess I was only referring to metal being inserted through our skin. I've heard about aluminium leaching into our foods via pans. Does this include stainless steel? When my husband sees me scraping the pan - as in a stew or soup etc - he always thinks the metal's scraping off, too. Is he right? Thanks Carlene > > I have read here and there that metal pans we cook in can and do leak metal into our foods. > > Pam ------------------------------------
Guest guest
Apparently acidic foods can cause leaching from any metal pan; that is foods like fruits, tomatoes, anything with vinegar in it. But I don't think that you scrape off metal. You do, of course, scrape off teflon. That can't be good either. Pam Re: Shots & Fibro Dominie???? You're absolutely right. Guest guest
That is why stanley 7 I muse only cast iron Skilets to cook in. we have a gas stove.OUr oldest son gave usa teflon pan back in 2003 to use which wes till use now nd then.He thinks seasoning cast iron skillets is toomuch trouble. I also heard when yuo use teflon pans a vet told me this and it is on various pet sites too the fumes from the teflon pan can hurt a pet bird like a parkette or even a parrot. But we use cast iron skillets.I will ask mydr about this for when I had my pnumonia shot last year the tech asked me if I was senstive to metal. so that got me thinking. heidi
Guest guest
There are actually problems with some of the pans made. If they began to peel back and pieces get in your food. And I'm allergic to the metal of tableware..If it touches my teeth it's like the same effect as metal to metal braces....So, who knows?! > > > > > > Oh My Gosh ladies. > > > I had the symptoms from 1994 till I was diagonsed in 2006. Guest guest
Metal has been the cause of many problems for people. Metal surgical instrutments being left in patients causes reactions, etc. I myself am allergic to metals. Have you heard about the relationships of our metal cavity fillings and their negative reactions too? It's all open to possibilities...... *L > > > > I seriously doubt that any of our problems are caused by the metal > used in > > needles for injections or lab test. Guest guest
Exactly, Pam. And it's extremely dangerous. There's metal in our waters, and who knows what else. Multiple Chemical Sensitivities covers a lot of this. *L > > > > I seriously doubt that any of our problems are caused by the metal > used in > > needles for injections or lab test. Guest guest
http://www.checnet.org/about_checfaq.asp Children's Health Environmental Coalition Our world in general is filled with things that are poisoning us. I am a sufferer of Multiple Chemical Sensitivities. My body reacts to a lot of stuff. One organization I like is the one I've listed above. You might find it interesting. You can also find links and info on www.Care2.com about having a healthy environment. Guest guest
I've been saying for years there is something in the water, and finally last year science proved I was right. How about that? Two points for me. Speaking of which, I have noticed that now that winter has come the trees being thinner, I hear everything at night for miles around. It is like the butterfly effect. It is like you already couldn't sleep well, now sound travels, and there is more noise to distract you from going to sleep. This, on top of the cold weather making you hurt more. Guest guest
There is solid research that food absorbs metals and plastics from cookware, tableware, etc. There is also a connection between these metals and illness. For example, excess aluminum is connected to Alzheimers Disease, and people who cook in cast iron have higher blood levels of iron and therefore less anemia. There are tons of heavy metals and artificial estrogens in the air, soil and water, and therefore all of our food. These are proven to cause horrible health problems for everyone. Most plant fertilizers contain estrogens, to make plants grow fast and produce more fruits/vegetables. While no one has " proven " the effects these have on the human body, they are absorbed in the body and affect our hormone balances. Since every single function in our bodies is regulated by hormones, the effects this can have on the function of our bodies is a complete unknown. Because food manufacturers give more money to our government than most other industries, these studies have simply not been done, and are not likely to be done anytime soon. Just like the current issue of melamine in baby formula and toxic plastic water bottles, EVERYTHING that enters our body has an effect, whether positive or negative. Unfortunately these days, because of pollution and industry, there are many more nasty toxins in our environment, and a resulting explosion of " mystery illnesses " of every variety, including FM, CFS, MPS, etc. For those of us already suffering from these illnesses, it is that much more important that we practice caution in what we do and do not pump into our already overwhelmed systems. Guest guest
Hi , it's very worrying to think that there is " a connection between these metals and illness. " And that we're all paying the price (with depleted health) for " these studies not being done. " Some months ago, I bought some cheap plastic water bottles. Just from washing them in hot soapy water - I started to notice a very unpleasant taste of plastic in the water. So, yesterday I bought a more expensive bottle. And threw the others out. As you say we need to be cautious in everything. Thanks for your terrific article.
