Guest guest
Here is a report from MSNBC. Updated: 2:27 p.m. ET Dec. 6, 2004 Tony ===== Obese passengers break seats on cruise liner Report: Plus-size Americans collapse chairs on Queen II Overweight American passengers have broken dozens of seats on the Queen II, the world's biggest and most luxurious cruise liner, according to Britain's The Sunday Telegraph newspaper. The French company that supplied chairs on the cruise liner told the newspaper it is repairing and replacing them as quickly as they collapse under plus-sized passengers. A spokesman for the company Alstom Chantiers told the newspaper that some of the passengers, mostly those from the United States, were heavier than expected. Many of the broken seats were in the bar and restaurant areas, according to the British paper. There has been a rise in the number of obese and overweight people going on cruise holidays because of cramped seating on airplanes and trains, an obesity expert explained to the Telegraph. The Queen II, which set sail on her maiden voyage in January this year, is more than twice as long as the Washington Monument. It carries 2,620 passengers and 1,250 crew, and cost an estimated $800 million to build.
Guest guest
Funny. I've never seen an office chair collapse, even from the 500#er. This report makes it sound like it's the fault of the passengers. Regards ----- Original Message ----- From: citpeks Sent: Tuesday, December 07, 2004 1:01 PM Subject: [ ] Breaking news! Guest guest
Thanks to all for your good wishes and prayers for Rob. I'm sure that helped his stone on its journey, lol. Bad thing is he was never able to catch up in the classes he missed. So tomorrow, he is dropping 2 classes and will go down to 7 hours credit. He is struggling so much, I'm afraid he will get so discouraged he will just quit. I hope not. The other thing is, at the end of this semester he will have to submit grades, etc to insurance and they will drop him for not being full time. He is on medicaid at present but our goofy governor rehauled the system, and in May he had to apply all over again despite only having it for 6 months. We have no guarantee they will renew it. I'm praying they do, because if not there is no way we can afford Enbrel. We'll have to see and will put it all in God's hands! and Rob 19 JAS PS I talked to Rusty last night and he walked partially down the hall! He is so amazing! Guest guest
I meant to say that right now he has commercial insurance primary and medicaid is secondary. So he'll lose the primary and hopefully will have the medicaid to fall back on. Hopefully. BREAKING NEWS! > > > > > > > > > > > > > > ROB PASSED THE KIDNEY STONE!
