Guest guest
Jennie, a lot of people have the problem of appendix rupturing and no other symptoms before hand. Most likely the oxycontin is causing your constipation. This is a side effect of pain medication. My heart medication causes me to have constiopation and I am on Kristolose which is a powdered form of lactulose syrup. It can take several days before you notice effects. I also take colace 3 times a day with 2 pericolace every other day. My peristalsis has been slowed by my medication. If you are very uncomfortable, use a glycerin suppository or a fleet enema for immediate relief. The lactulose should be take daily as ordered, not just when you are having a problem. Prune juice, apple sauce, apples and stewed prunes are also good to take. Warm prune juice with 1 to 2 tablespoons of MOM is also a good mix to try. Sandie Sandie,,,, You're such a darling! I appreciate everything you've told me... I " m sorry you have have problems with constipation too. I " m going to mention the others,, like colace, and percolace to my doctor too. I have tried fleet enemas many times and still don't go. I " ve done the prune thing too. Being on the Lactulose Syrup for 5 days now,, I managed a tiny movemnet this morning... so I " m going to keep taking this and with time it'll help me. Guest guest
Jennie, I found a product several years ago, that gives results within 5 minutes, it is a liquid glycerin. It is hard to find for adults, but they do make it. It is hard to believe that such a small amount produces results that fast. What upsets me about my problem is that 2 years ago I had a colon resection done to severe diverticulitis, they took 18 inches of my colon out. Since then I had not had any problem with constipation which had been a life long problem. Then with the heart medication, I have the problem back. I sure don't want to develop diverticuli again and have the risk of diverticulitis. Sandie -- Thankyou Sandie!!!
