Guest guest
I had problems with acne since I was 11. I am now 57. The immune powder I began using in 2001 for FMS/CFIDS cleared up my complexion too (surprisingly). The powder works in the intestines, where 80% of the immune system is located - sometimes referred to as the " gut brain. " I continue taking the powder daily (for vanity's sake), as well as for immune help. With my CFIDS condition, I had been battling infections, especially after any kind of stress, feel flu- ish and feverish, glands under my jaw would swell, etc. This was the reason I tried the immune powder when someone told me about it, but it is really nice to have a clear complexion too. The info is at http://www.legacyforlife.com/dominie (click on i26 - Complete Support packets). Dom > > I've heard the tanning helps with acne as well. I had a friend who's doctor prescribed her to go to a tanning salon because her whole body was covered in acne and the prescription meds just weren't working. That was news to me. > Stacie >
Guest guest
I honestly never had acne until I got Fibromyalgia! I get so depressed when I look at my face & I see scaring from it! I'm 40 years old & went all through my teenage years with hardly any acne! Certainly no acne scars!! I wonder if there is a link between adult acne & Fibromyalgia? Has anyone else experienced this? Guest guest
Yes. There are many people I know with fibro that have acne. The doctor has me on low dose antibiotics for it right now, long term. Which, I know, is a bad thing, but I really like this doctor. I haven't trusted doctors for years, and I really want to follow the rules with this one so he can see for himself that I trust his judgement. It is helping a lot more than what I expected. Actually, it is also helping the pain and tenderness in my skin too. Right now I am sticking with it. I still have another month and a half on this regimen before he will rediagnose me, so if he doesn't keep me on it then I will be trying Dom's powder that she recommends. Guest guest
I have FMS and thankfully do not suffer from acne. With me there would not be a connection of acne and Fibro. Guest guest
The common denominator could possibly be an overload of toxins in the intestines. Just guessing. Anyway, the immune powder cleared it up, thankfully. - Dom > > I have FMS and thankfully do not suffer from acne. With me there would not be a connection of acne and Fibro. Hugs H
Guest guest
I truly appreciate every ones input about the acne, now at least I have a idea. I believe you really may be on to something there Dominie! I have bowel issues, many due to my meds. I'm thinking, and the toxins have to be removed from our bodies some how. It would make very much sense to me that one could be through acne? Thanks so much & Take care,Pam.S MANY Unique Fibromyalgia Awareness Items! Guest guest
Thank you very much Stacie! I actually have tried antibiotics along with a topical antibiotic & can you believe NOTHING helped!!!??? That's when I started noticing some scaring & panic! I went to my doctor & a skin specialist & they both couldn't clear it up or even slow it down enough to stop the continuation of more acne, which lead to more scares! And,of course,on my face! I do have some acne on my back, which I'm not happy about at all either, but mainly my face,as I'm sure you can understand. Thanks so much for your input! Guest guest
Pam,I started with adult acne in my late twenties. It went away in my thirties and came back just before I turned forty. I get an antibiotic cream from the Dermatologist and Retin A {yeah!} and it keeps my skin clear..however I do have to keep up with it. {When I have my period something always crops up anyway} I will break out if I am not diligent. I also like to get facials. Not only relaxing but it helps to de-stress and detox my skin. I never even broke out as a teenager. Whether the re-occurrence is fibro related {I have had it 13 years now, that I know of} I don't know. I do know I have a toxicity problem and who knows how long that has been going on. Your guess is as good as mine.sue--- On Wed, 12/10/08, P J <ps1968pm@...> wrote:From: P J <ps1968pm@...>Subject: Re: replying about acnedominie Date: Wednesday, December 10, 2008, 5:51 AM Hi Sandie! Guest guest
Pam and Sue, has roseaca been ruled out by the Dr? -- Re: replying about acnedominie Date: Wednesday, December 10, 2008, 5:51 AM Hi Sandie! Guest guest
Yes, and I don't have any roseaca. Dr. Egan my dermatologist did say that adult acne for woman is very common. However, to the degree, Pam, you are experiencing it I do not know. I do not have it that badly and like I said the topical antibiotic along with the Retin A works great. I do have to say it never quite gets ride of the bumps on my forehead. I see them, not sure if anyone else does. That is why I see a facialist. Well, perhaps that is a good excuse to go to the spa.Sue From: P J <ps1968pm (DOT) com>Subject: Re: replying about acnedominie@groups .comDate: Wednesday, December 10, 2008, 5:51 AM Hi Sandie! Guest guest
Hi Sue, I'm beginning to think a lot of my problems are from toxins in my body. I'm going to investigate more about that & see if that doesn't help me a bit. Thanks so much! Pam.S MANY Fibromyalgia Awareness Items Created Daily!
