REPOSTING DOM'S GRAPH:

I tried typing in my main prescriptions to see how this card would

compare with the card I have from my insurance company

( " hospitalization only " plan), and also how it would compare with

having no discount card from any company (being totally self-pay).

Below are my findings (I rounded the numbers to whole numbers; for

example, $4.46 = $4, and $4.57 = $5)

DOM'S MED#/ WITH NO CARD/ WITH MY INSURANCE CARD/WITH THIS FREE CARD

#1 $21 $8 $19

#2 $14 $5 $12

#3 $10 $3 $8

#4 $48 $10 $76

#5 $78 $51 $75

#6 $10 $2 $13

I hope this is more readable now. As you can see, the free card is

sometimes more expensive than no card. Sometimes it saves $2-3.

Thanks, Dominie, for your terrific cost comparison graph. You've identified what amounts to only a small $saving on some prescriptions. I agree that the "online database" is a very necessary, and useful tool. Great research! Cheers - Carlene.

If you belong to AAA, you can go to their website and print out a prescription drug card free. Also they have a free benefit of discounts on eye glasses and a few other health care services. AARP if you belong, you can go to their website and do a search and they have several free discounts that you can get. Even on some alternative services, like chiropractic, massage therapy, and alternative medicine. Sandie -- Re: "FREE Rx Prescription Drug Card - reposting Dom's graph
