Hello, everyone! I'm " de-lurking " to post some very encouraging

blood test results I received today;

Total Cholesterol - 176. (238 in 7/04, 254 in 1/04)

LDL - 86. (116 in 7/04, 157 in 1/04)

HDL - 77. (86 in 7/04, 71 in 1/04)

Triglycerides - 63. (170 in 7/04, 129 in 1/04)

I've been pursuing my interest in CRON over the past two years.

Although I realize that weight loss is not the primary aim of CRON,

it has been a welcome result for me. I was obese, (240 lbs., 5

ft., 4 inches)and I was seriously considering gastric bypass

surgery. Instead I began focusing my energy on lowering my

calories, while increasing the nutrient density of quality food

choices. I have lost 80 lbs., and I am now in the overweight BMI

category (27.5). Obviously, I still have a long way to go, but my

health improvements keep me motivated. I've also been able to

discontinue my high blood pressure medication. Thank you to

everyone who contributes to the list. I learn something new every

time I receive the daily digest. The files have been an invaluable

tool, as well. The information they hold has been as helpful to me

as any of the Walford books!

Hi Noelle:

What a wonderful post to read. And what a great example you are for

others who have not yet decided to take the plunge and initiate CRON.

How often have we heard someone say that you can only make small

changes to your lipids data via diet? And you have very nearly

HALVED your LDL and triglycerides!!!

Great stuff.

Rodney.

Noelle: I live for posts like yours! It's worth all the nonsense that we

moderators have to put up with to read something like this once in a while.

Congratulations and do keep us informed of your progress. And give yourself

a big pat on the back!

While I'm at it, thanks to all the people who help me moderate, to our major

contributors, and all who help run the group.
