Thank you... great observations.

I have pondered alimentary transit time and IMO there seems to be more

going on than just volume and hydration (energy balance?, set point?).

It's probably difficult to parse out of sundry interactions.

I live in Japan and have had experiences with that

culture that shed a different light, for me at least,

on some of the extrapolations some have made regarding

keys to longevity in Japan and Okinawa. I appreciate

that Logan questions the comparability of the food

items--such as the sweet potatoes and yams he

cited--as potentially skewing our data and ability to

learn from or borrow habits and methods from other

cultures.
