Old Age Objectives. Was: Re: Okinawans

Hi JW:

Of course the logic here is that once we have the full list, we can

try to think up ways of achieving each of the objectives.

You raise the issue of pain. If that is not especially realistic

then we can tackle that by (sorry, folks!) making another little

list. This time the list is 'sources of pain in old age'. Then we

can try to figure out how to arrange, ahead of time, how to avoid

each of them happening later:

1. Arthritis.

2. Back pain.

3. Headaches?

4. ........... ???

Suggestions?

Muscle pain (unknown cause)

Joint pain (not necessarily arthritis)

Gout

Pinched nerves. (maybe disk failure, maybe something else)

But recognize that pain is essential to knowing that something is wrong. If I continue to get pains, I know I'm alive. If a part goes numb, that's bad.
