Guest guest
Folks: I am visiting my grandkids. On the plus side, I have taught them to read ingredients on labels of processed foods (and I hope they will educate their parents who are my daughter and son-in-law). On the minus side, my grandaughters belong to the girl scouts who are still selling those cookies. The cookies are a compilation of the absolute worst that processed food has to offer. I expected sugar to be the first and major ingredient and I was not disappointed. But also in all flavors of cookies are trans fats and high fructose corn syrup. Isn't it about time that major organizations like the boy/girl scouts should be teaching proper eating habits to young kids instead of asking them to go around selling these unhealthy products? Especially in light of the obesity epidemic in which children are affected? To me it's almost as bad as asking kids to go door to door selling cartons of cigarettes.
