Guest guest
Open up, Carlene. It's Bette!Healed or Controlled? Some health problems can be healed; some can't. Well, when life's in the ditch, we really don't want to hear any talk about not healing. But reality is what it is, so we need to think through some options. The easiest choice is giving up. But if you give up when a problem rears its ugly head, you'll never feel better. In fact, your future will be downhill all the way. Why give up on yourself like that? And even if you go to doctor after doctor after doctor and still can't get answers, you still shouldn't give up. Doctors are trained to listen to, say, three symptoms, then grab the prescription pad and start scribbling. And if the doc can't figure out anything to scribble and says that you'll just have to learn to live with it–and probably throws in a helpful remark about getting old–you absolutely don't want to give up. In fact, that "you're getting old, so just live with it" is kind of a blessing. It means the doctor has run out of ideas, so at least you don't get a prescription, probably inappropriate, and all the side effects that come along with it. Giving up is not an option. Yes, it's hard to feel terrible and not get help, but never give up. Instead, get your "OH YEAH!" attitude going. You may hear talk that you don't have a chance, that nothing can be done to change your mess or any of many other intended-to-be-defeating remarks. Don't take any of it to heart. Even if you're the one doing the talking. The negative talk is a blessing, though, if it stiffens the spine for the battle. You see, healing's not the only good option. Another good option is controlling what ails you. For example, a bright, funny man, who ran his doctor wife's medical practice, started down the path to Alzheimer's. Things got really bad while his wife struggled for answers. She knew the standard remedies wouldn't reverse his terrible downhill plunge. Then she discovered coconut oil. Yeah, coconut oil. Strange, I know, but read on. Four tablespoons of coconut oil each day–taken throughout the day in oatmeal, soups, by the spoonful, whatever–reversed his symptoms, starting in just a few weeks and getting better as time went on. From all reports, if you didn't know his story, you'd never guess. But he's not healed. If he doesn't take coconut oil every day, he starts falling back into the abyss. But it's still good news. He has his Alzheimer's under control so it doesn't interfere with his life. That's surely worth the price of taking four tablespoons of coconut oil a day, eh? For another example, when a drunk driver hit my parent's car, my pliable, 11-month-old skull took a real hit. And there went my endocrine system. After years of increasing misery, beset by carload after carload of symptoms, I entered the land of the living dead. That's what started all my research into getting the endocrine system to straighten up and fly right. It took a lot of years to put all the pieces together, going beyond what everybody "knows" and getting into stuff most medical people never heard about. Maybe because the answers are too simple. Kind of like using coconut oil to treat Alzheimer's. I now know how to get my endocrine system to behave, and as long as I keep on keeping on, I'm good. While I'm still working toward healing, I don't think I'd feel any better if I got there. It might mean I wouldn't have to chug down as many vitamin, mineral, etc. supplements every day, but taking supplements is easily worth the price of admission. Truth to tell, my pursuit of healing has as much to do with a chance to say Na Na Na Na than anything important. The more I figure out, though, the more I can help others. Besides, nobody knows how to support the pituitary gland so it can "unmangle" itself. From what I read, nobody else is even looking; medicine's about ordering the body around, not helping it work. I may boldly go where no man (or woman) has ever gone before. How cool would that be? Here's what I know: Our bodies want to heal. If we give them a helping hand, they will respond, and they'll go as far as we take them. Healing may be ideal, but feeling really good ain't the least bit shabby. Especially since when you feel good, it lights up your face. And gives your optimism a boost, too. Until next time then.God is good, Bette Dowdell http://TooPoopedToParticipate.com P.S. Remember.
