Guest guest
But if we live in a world that becomes day after day more dangerous, with more toxins, poisons, pesticides \ and pollution in the air, the water and the land, with more and more fast food and junk calories stressful life styles and degenerating diseases how comes and there are more centenarians in 2000 than in 1900? Guest guest
Infectious disease, especially in infants and children has been largely eliminated. My father's baby brother died of diptheria in the early 1900's and such deaths were pretty common. Now we vaccinate infants and children and use antibiotics. Very few infants die anymore, and that includes premature births. Many young women died in childbirth before we understood the connection between hygiene and disease and before cesarean sections which have eliminated deaths due to high risk pregnancies. on 1/7/2005 1:37 PM, Demetris Tsimperis at dtsimperis@... wrote: > But if we live in a world that becomes > day after day more dangerous, > with more toxins, poisons, pesticides \ > and pollution in the air, the water and the land, > with more and more fast food and junk calories > stressful life styles and degenerating diseases > how comes and there are more centenarians > in 2000 than in 1900? > > Demetris
Guest guest
Good point. I guess I am concerned more with what I will DO to improve my survival, as opposed to accepting an average of the risks. My parents lived to 75yo, so I need to improve that somehow and the only way I know is CR. Regards. ----- Original Message ----- From: " Demetris Tsimperis " <dtsimperis@...> < > Sent: Friday, January 07, 2005 12:37 PM Subject: [ ] 50,000 centenarians? > > But if we live in a world that becomes > day after day more dangerous, > with more toxins, poisons, pesticides \ > and pollution in the air, the water and the land, > with more and more fast food and junk calories > stressful life styles and degenerating diseases > how comes and there are more centenarians > in 2000 than in 1900? > > Demetris
