People born in 1942, for example, will not qualify for retirement until 10 months after age 65, and later birth years increase retirement age even further. http://www.ssa.gov/OACT/ProgData/nra.html The fiscal solution for Social Security is: 1) to set the retirement age high enough so that most people will die before they can collect, or 2) to reduce the number of years that benefits are paid. Under today's rules, males get to collect SS benefits for 15.1 years, and females for 19.03 years. Increasing the retirement age, in combination with the " Western-style diet " will reduce the amount that SS has to pay.
