Guest guest
I've been following the family troubles being discussed. This time of year shines a spotlight on families, and my guess is that most families experience some strain during the holidays. Years ago I read a fascinating book by psychiatrist Peck, called PEOPLE OF THE LIE. It explained how narcissistic people cause enormous pain in families. Many of his patients were victims of these narcissists. Strangely, he was never able to help a narcissist - even if you could get one to come to his office. Peck came to the conclusion that some people (those causing trouble in the family) were " evil. " That, of course, is not a psychiatric concept, but a religious one - but he couldn't find any other way to describe what he called " people of the lie. " His advice about battling evil was to not become evil yourself. Family stress can cause FMS or make it worse. - Dom
