Just been flicking through Ray Kurzweils new book " Fantastic Voyage "

and his beliefs on diet pretty much fall in line with walfords with

one big difference: PROTEIN in large amounts.

Kurzweil:5-7 servings of veg + 2-8 cups green tea

Walford: similar amounts of veg and some green tea

Kurzweil: lean animal 1-2 servings and fish (low mercury ones) 2-4

servings and veg protein 2-4 servings (soy etc)

Walford: his food pyramid recommends a mix of proteins, but not in

as high amounts.

Kurzweil: 0-3 fruit potions a day (having type two diabetes makes

him a bit fruit-phobic)

Walford: I guess 2-4 servings looking at his pyramid

Kurzweil: low gi-carbs 2-3 servings (beans, lentils, wholegrains)

Walford: pretty much the same I think from walfords pyramid

Kurzweil: healthy fats (nuts, seeds, olive oil, avocado) 1-2 servings

Walford: pretty similar again

Kurzweil: dairy, eggs, red meat - small amounts

Walford: same as kurzweil

Kurzweil: aggressive nutrient supplements

Walford: selected supplements

Kurzweil: 10% calorie restriction

Walford: 10-30% I guess.

But when it comes to macronutrient ratios Kurzweil suggests you

decide based on being in a low or medium carb group (low carb group

is people trying to loose weight, people with TMS (metabolic

syndrome x) type two diabetics, people with elevated chd risk,

people with or having had cancer) - medium carb group is everyone

outside those categories.

Low carb group should eat 25% fat maximum, 59% protein (wow), 16%

carbs

Medium carb group should eat 25% fat maximum, 42 % protein (he says

at least 42 percent), 33% carbs and for both groups saturated fats

should be 3% of total calories, with most of rest being mono fat.

He also takes a bucket load of nutrients to fight various cancers

etc and has various blood tests regularly.
